Underwhelming compared to SC2? Or what made you feel that way?I didn't like a single bit of Grey Goo. Pretty much the whole experience was underwhelming and I wouldn't recommend it at $30. $20 maybe.
The game, it unlocks special prices for the day as achievements are unlocked. (But they aren't supposed to unlock until 10am, so I don't know.)Is it just me or are some prices goind down even though the flash deals haven't ended yet. F1 was 14.99 earlier, now it's $11.99. Papers Please is 3 bucks and it was 5 earlier.
Refund the game using the reason "It's now on sale for cheaper" and then re-buy it.So I got Papers, Please for $5, thinking the Flash Sale was the deepest discount it'd get. Now it's $3... and still a flash sale. Anybody mind school the uninitiated (me) on how this shit works, please?
Nice! Good lookin, forum bro.Refund the game using the reason "It's now on sale for cheaper" and then re-buy it.
Unfortunately I've been out of town all week so probably won't get to try it for a while. I sure don't care for micro management though so I hope it is true.Reviews talking about removing un-necessary micro. Any feedback on that? I'm no 150 APS guy anymore, just looking for a fun base building game to then roll my army through some dudes, or computer opponents.
This was my post in the Grey Goo thread. Had to go back and find it b/c honestly it was hard to remember with any specifics:Underwhelming compared to SC2? Or what made you feel that way?
So there you go. I do hope you like it, it just wasn't for me. Maybe it has since been patched or community mods have fixed some things. Bump the old thread if you find it kicks ass or some info, would probably go back and play it if so.Disclosure; RTS is not my preferred genre and I'm not very hardcore with them, ymmv.
Gave this a whirl the past two or three nights and can't say that I enjoy it. Probably 8 missions or so in and nothing seems revolutionary, impressive, or, well anything outside of a normal RTS. Even the missions are pretty copypasta from all the previous games ranging from: protect your base until reinforcements arrive, protect your base until we gather enough resources, we need to build a bigger base and eliminate X threat. I only point it out because of some of the developer interviews talking about this genre redefining RTS 2.0.
Performance wise it also seems underwhelming. Doesn't feel smooth and fluid even though the FPS are generally high. The build trees and resource management, at least through the Beta campaign, were meh. Their implementation of build hotkeys didn't come off as any more efficient or better than the old standard.
Not sure it is worth the $50, for me at least. I'll probably try to find a trainer and play through the story just to see what it is all about.
If you get Enhanced Steam for Chrome it'll give you quick view of historical low prices. At the moment, GR2 is definitely at the lowest it's ever been.Grimrock II for 75% off. Has it ever been that low? I grabbed it.
Nice find! the flash version has been a nice distraction at work!Don't miss out on this:
Save 90% on Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal on Steamif you like base building and tower defense/base defense games.
Play Creeper World: Evermore, a free online game on Kongregateflash version if you are still unsure.
No. X3 isstilla better X game and Elite is a better space game in general.X: Rebirth worth it on flash sale?
Yep just got home and saw that. Requested a refund so I could get the cheaper price. Any idea how long that takes?Grey Goo now 20 bucks.
