So I preordered the Steam controller out of curiosity. Has anyone used any of the earlier versions?

Not sold on the touchpads instead of sticks.

That said, after some hands-on time, I'm really tempted to pickup a Sony PS4 controller to replace my logitech rumble-something or another that has a sticky shoulder button. The in-hand feel of the ps4 controller was shockingly good; and since the 3rd party software came out that lets you use it as if it's an xbox controller...

Yeah, I'm using a PS4 controller now as my main PC pad. With DS4windows it's far superior to the Xbox pad. The Steam controller is more of a curiosity than anything.

Edit: emailed there support and it's all resolved. That was annoying but made better by quick support.

I figure this might be the best place to get some help on this. So I went to purchase a game on Green Man Gaming, and it wanted me to login. Login, and now it's asking for my Playfire password, but I don't have a Playfire account? Am I too just assume that I need to go to playfire.com, create an account, and come back to GMG and put in that password? Confirmed no account through Forgot Password feature on Playfire.com.

More frustrating is that I can't even browse games on GMG now, until I finish this step to link my playfire accounts/GMG accounts.

Thanks for the help.

Edit: Ok , wtf... I'm now on screens on both websites that asks for the others password, and neither will take what I just entered. Playfire now took my email address as valid, and sent me a password reset email. I reset it, and then I type that password in on GMG and it says invalid. Ugh.... this is some annoying shit.

Man new Steam refund policy is nice and all but the 6 month hard cap on even requesting a refund can fuck off. Couple games I couldn't get running after hours of troubleshooting but didn't want to deal with the hassle of trying to get refunded at the time because it wasn't worth my time for <$5. Now that it's streamlined it's been too long. Weak. I better get my $1.50 back for the one game it let me even submit!

I mean, you wouldn't have the [reasonable] expectation of a 6 month+ return with any other retailer. Why would you with Steam?

Ease of verifying the issue behind the return in the case of the two games I really wanted refunded. Launched 30+ times with less than a minute played due to failed launch. Never expected a refund and my request was already rejected for the one game in the 6mo time frame. Would just have been nice to launch without the restraint and have the time limit apply going forward for the cases where it wasn't worth dealing with CS to get a non functioning game refunded.

It's a great feature I'm glad we now have either way.

I ran into the 6 month rule when I figured I'd at least try to get Abyss Odyssey refunded. Fucking hated that game and only played like 45 minutes before banishing it to the hidden "Shit" category in my library. Wasn't really surprised they have a hard cut-off point though.

The first one was a fun Zelda/Metroidvania style 3rd person action game.

The second one tried to inject RPG-lite mechanics that failed miserably, and had a much worse main character and story. I only ever made it about halfway through that one before moving on to other, better games.

I recently went back to the 2nd one and finally played through all the way. The first is definitely much better, but the 2nd isn't terrible. Definitely worth a buy at that price for both.

I like how GTA5 is still $60 because they package together shit you don't want and discount it conveniently to $60
