Got people over playing this today, among other games.

Is the entire game gonna be in this dusty construction site / city ruin? Because it's already getting real old. Hopefully there are some more interesting biomes before too long. This was something I also didn't like about FF7 Remake, way too many dusty construction site looking zones.

Two desert like zones (the only big "open world" like zones, one more sandy than the other), and lots of smaller more varied environments, city ruins, installation ruins, space complex ruins, etc. Note the planet got demolished, so you're not going to see anything pristine.

Other parts of the planet might be different but some auto-terraformer process is still working but it struggled to even make the small oasis. Lore-wise a large structure crashed from space near the region the game is at which generated a tsunami.

As much as I don't like "dusty ruined construction site" as a setting, I find this game kind of fascinating from the perspective of it being post-civilization and the beginning of humanity going through a hard reset.

I wonder if part of the modern fascination with post-civilization settings is due to some ancient genetic memory of past civilizational resets, like The Flood, the Deluge from the Epic of Gilgamesh, or the end of the Younger Dryas 12000 years ago (these 3 things may be the same). Chukzombi Chukzombi thoughts?

Yeah, it's cool to go to abandoned sites. I watch Bald And Bankrupt on YouTube and he's made hundreds of videos over the last 5 years of him travelling through all of Russia and the former Soviet provinces. Shit is just laying around abandoned from 40 years ago or people are still using the same shit from back then. It's incredibly depressing, but also kinda cool like people are still going about their day driving Ladas or running Soviet businesses like nothing has changed. They hate Gorbachev for ruining their lives and prefer living under Brezhnev.

The coolest parts are the areas still affected by Chernobyl and it's mostly abandoned, but some people still live there. Towns of people living right at or even in the restricted zones.

Chernobyl is always fun to talk to “nuclear power scary!” People.

The land has recovered faster and more “lively” than anyone projected.

It’s still not a “good thing” to have happened - but it shows that the Earth is not as weak as us simple humans think it is.

There are also a lot of northern lands in Siberia that are basically completely unexplored/unsettled, that were probably teeming with life at one time (and maybe even settled).

And central Africa, like the Chad area of the Sahara, has hundreds of miles of basically untouched pristine wilderness with some crazy geologic landforms that aren't found anywhere else in the world.

I may have been stoned as fuck when I did the earlier post.

B&B has Siberia videos too. He even snuck into the Soviet union space hangar and saw their version of the space shuttle. Then the Russians arrested him .

hit the plat today with a tad over 55 hours total, had to do a NG+ run (8-10 hours skipping cutscenes and no side quests) for the third ending. I really like how the three endings are pretty different and give you different insights into the world.

REALLY enjoyed the game, while the story is not amazing and the environments as noted above tend to be a little too samey - "big giant sand deserts" - the combat in the game REALLY shines. Its crazy fun just parrying/dodging/countering and there are a TON of moves to remember, combined with all the gadget slots to enhance stuff its really fun figuring out ways to get OP fast. Its nowhere near Elden Ring levels of git-gud-so-satisfying but its far above most of the JRPGs/Ubisoft games I've played in the last few years.

When it comes out on PC I highly recommend it, will be an absolute blast on a great rig I'm sure and the mods should be interesting. I had over 70 outfits by the end and I was still missing at least 20 since a ton are locked behind NG+ sidequests/etc but to get the third ending you have to skip sidequests. I'd have to do a third run full NG+ run to get everything but not much interest in that right now.

i enjoyed the nier DLC outfits a lot, there are like 4-5 of them plus different hair styles and jewelry

Stellar Blade reposted the State of Play announcement for 5pm EST. Seems likely we will get another content update for Valentine's Day, collab update, and/or PC release details.

Shift Up financials recently confirmed they sold 2 million copies for the PS5 and they are confident the PC release can more than double that, especially in the Asian markets. Since the game engine already runs amazing on the Pro they are focusing on Steam Deck compatibility to maintain the high frame rates.

i've heard DLC talk too, a PC port is 100% coming this year but probably won't talk about it until April when the 1 year exclusive deal with Sony ends. While its possible Sony could publish the PC version there is really no reason for the korean company to do it, sony would take a bigger split and there are a million chinese pubs who would happily handle releasing the game on steam and give a bigger cut. Plus Sony is super weird about Sony login ID shit which turns a lot of gamers off.

Its been over a week since I finished (and I deleted the game... so I'd have to reinstall for a DLC lol) and it really was one of the more fun games I've played in the past 2 years. The combat is REALLY fun, and having a character with a fantastic ass is something you miss from the old MMO days.

The story is solid enough I could even see a movie or anime made in the next 2 years

Nice. Every time I think I'm going to sit down and place this a new DLC/costume drops. Just need to wait a bit longer!
