Ok, now I've finished the 4th official book (of 26). I liked that one as well. Long post to give off plots of this book. Rudy is still a kid, but I believe all of this happened in the 2nd part of the first season. Catching up! Actually, it takes place in episode 14 & 15 of the first season. I'm enjoying the book, just like I enjoyed the web novel.
Starts off in the city on the far south of the demon continent. The human god tells Rudius to buy some food and go walk around in the alleys. He does this and ends up meeting the Demon Emperor girl (he just thinks she's a girl) and after eating food, she gives him one of the Demon Eyes. Eye of prediction, so he can look 1-second in the future. Then Rudius finds a smuggling company to get Ruijerd (the Superdia) shipped to the middle-continent. In the mean time, Eris and Rudy take a different ship there as well, and Eris gets sick as a dog the entire trip. When they arrive and Rudy goes to pick up Ruijerd, he learns about how the smugglers have lots of beastfolk children slaves and they have to free them. They do, and then flee towards the city when one of the beastfolk asked if they could free the sacred beast as well. Rudy goes back to free it, while Ruijerd takes the slave children back to the city. Eris is just sitting in the motel room waiting for Rudy to get back at this point. Anyway, he rescues the sacred beast (silver dog) a younger beastfolk attacks and captures him because he think he's being perverted by petting it. Then an older beastfolk appears and follows Ruijerd's scent with all of the slave children to rescue them. Rudy gets taken to the beastfolk village and stripped nude then placed in a jail cell there. Ruijerd and older beastfolk end up meeting up and understand each other. He gets Eris from motel room, then all 3 work together to free others that were turned into slaves by getting the trading company involved. While Rudy is sitting in the jail cell, Geese is also added to the cell because he tried to scam them at a game of dice (he's the monkey-type guy that's the dungeon guide in the latest two episodes). They end up smelling fire and breaking out of jail to find that the slavers are attacking the village again and trying to capture all the women and children. Rudy uses magic to take them out, and the beastfolk become indebted to him and regret putting him in a jail cell. Eris is re-introduced back to Rudy at this point and the team decides to stay in the village for 3-months during the rainy season. Ghislaine is also the younger sister of the young beastfolk. He hates her because of what she was like before become a sword king, but now realizes she’s grown up since then. The next side-story in the book involves Fitz (Sylphy, though they never say that and only refer to “him”). It starts with flying through the air during the event that teleported people around the world. Rudy & Eris also flew, but they were holding hands which is why they stayed together. Anyway, Fitz also had that event. She cast magic to slow herself down while falling, but passed out from zeroing her magic out. Also broke both legs in the fall. She gets involved with Princess Ariel shortly after landing, just because she can cast without chanting (Rudy taught her to do that). The entire final story of the book is all about Princess Ariel, Fitz & Luke. Following her assistant, Derek, death, she decided she would actually try to become the queen in the future. In the process, many assassins have been sent to take her head, but Fitz has been successful in handling all of them. The final story is about a very famous assassin that has been taking lives for 10 years. She was actually acting as a prostitute slave for one of the castle’s nobles and tried to kill the princess, but Fitz quickly dispatched her, cutting off all her limbs with wind/explosion magic that also caused the assassin to fall through a hole in the wall and out of the tower, down to her death when she hit the ground. Fitz is getting positive support now, where as previously everyone hated “that country bumpkin”.
So I've finished the 5th book, and almost done with the 6th.
Book 5 begins with Rudy, Eris and Ruijerd going south along the King's road. They make it into the next village, where Rudy sees a kidnapping occur and battles the kidnappers. Their boss shows up, and it turns out to be Paul, Rudy's father. They didn't realize who each other were at the time, so they battle and Rudy's magic wins has the edge over Paul's sword. After the battle, they realize who they are, and they re-connect. Rudy tells a grand story of everything that's happened up till this point, and Paul gets angry because he's just playing around and didn't even try to find out about anyone else, then he punches Rudy in the face. Rudy, surprised at the attack, fights back and ends up beating up the drunken Paul, until his younger sister freaks out that this stranger is beating up her dad. Rudy hasn't seen either of his sisters since they were first born, and he was taken to help train Eris. In the mean time, she has no memory whatsoever about Rudy, except the stories she's heard from Paul & Zenith. After the fight, Rudy leaves the warehouse and returns to the motel he was staying at. He's very upset about what happened, and Eris is ready to murder Paul because he's emotionally hurt Rudy.
After the fight, Geese also shows up and talks to Paul, who is still complaining about Rudy's attitude. He explains that Rudy's still just a 12 year old Child, and he's even younger than Paul was when he ran away from home. Geese seems like someone that isn't a good fighter, but is very knowledgeable about people. He helps Paul cut through all the bullshit, and realize that he was out of line and should apologize. Paul's assistant girl contacts Rudy and says that he would like to meet up again and talk things over. Rudy attends the meeting at this bar, with Eris in tow. She's still really angry, but stays out of it so they can apologize and be cool with each other once again. Rudy and team stay in this city for another week, before setting off for the central continent so Eris can return to her home area. Then there's another side story, explaining how an investigator is searching for proof of Princess Aireth being alive after one of her brothers started spreading rumors about the opposite. The investigator goes on a trip to the edge of the country, and has a talk with all of the guards at this check point she was supposed to die at. After hearing the story from all involved, he determines that she actually was killed. Turns out that this is when Eris went off to become a goblin slayer, and she witnesses the assassins going after the Princess, and defeats them all. It also tells the story about how Eris meets Cliff, a young magician who's overly impressed with himself. Going out hunting Goblins with Cliff is what lead her to defending the princess, even if she didn't know who the person she defended actually was. A little later the investigator was having a meal when he overheard people talking. Turns out that one of the people was a watchtower guard from that same checkpoint, who witnessed the assassination attempt. He explained everything that happened, and how Fitz and this red haired girl saved the princess, but one of her body doubles was killed in the process. Thus the story came out about her death.
Book 6 has been really good as well. Rudy, Eris & Ruijerd make it all the way back to Eris' home town. Ruijerd explains how much she's grown as a swords woman, and explains that she's much stronger now than when he first met her. They make it to the first large city of the continent, and man-god appears in Rudy's dream, telling him how to save his other sister and maid. He stops his sister from being captured by the castle guards, and then sends a letter to Roxy like the man-god suggests. Roxy isn't at the palace any longer, and the 6th prince intercepts the letter, who wants to turn Roxy into a sex slave. He lures Rudy to the castle, under the pretense that he'll get to see Roxy that way, and is trapped inside of a magic chamber that doesn't allow him to finish casting any spells. He encounters the Prince's older brother, the 5th prince, who is the super strong guy from later in the Anime. The older brother discovers Rudy's Ruijerd statue, and decides to become Rudy's student. He frees Rudy from the magic chamber before they decide to meet up again in the future. A little further on the journey, they encounter the Dragon God, Orsted. He somehow knew exactly who Eris and Ruijerd were, says that Paul never had a son before. Rudy tries talking to him, and Orsted asks him if he's ever heard of the man god. When Rudy says he's appeared in his dreams, Orstead quickly punches him through the lungs, then knocks out Ruijerd and Eris. While walking away, Rudy hits him with the hardest, fastest stone cannon he can summon, before actually dying. Rudy awakens with the man-god again, and still has the hole in his chest. While talking, the man-god says that he isn't dead, but also says that Orsted is cursed, so the man-god doesn't have the ability to see where he is. That's why he never warned Rudy earlier about mentioning his dreams with Orsted. Turns out the girl walking with Orsted suggests that Rudy be saved, so Orsted heals him completely before continuing his walk. Once the three of them are back to normal, they decide to continue the journey to take Eris home. Right outside of the village, Ruijerd decides to go on his way so that Eris & Rudy can return to their village without him being a distraction. When they get to the village, they see that it's completely different than it used to be. Where the previous city and Eris's home was is now a field, and people have set up a small community living in tents and basic wooden structures. The "new" liege lord of the town decided that Eris's grandfather is responsible for the teleportation crisis. Then he is executed. Eris's mother and father are discovered dead by Ghislaine, in the outskirts of the war zone that she was teleported to. They were both dead and she noticed their bodies while walking through. Eris demands that she be left alone for a while, so Rudy and Ghislaine meet with the butler to discuss the future. The butler wants Eris to become the new side piece of her uncle, who is the current liege lord of the area, so that way she can secure the city being rebuilt for all of the people who were teleported away. Rudy isn't interested in that, and Ghislaine says she should just be with Rudy and far away from the area. Nothing is really resolved by the meeting, and Rudy goes back to his room alone. Later on, Eris drops by in a black night gown thing. They have sex and then the story turns to Eris's view point. It looks back over how she was so happy to beat a distracted Ruijerd in a sparring match, and then is quickly beaten herself with the new demon eye'd Rudy. She realizes just how helpless she is against him, so she's always trying to make herself stronger so she can stand by his side without burdening him. She wanted to finally have sex with him because she knew she was leaving the village to continue training where Ghislaine became a sword saint. She wants to be stronger so she doesn't embarrass Rudy. The next morning when Rudy wakes up, Eris is not around. She left him a note saying they are not ready yet, so she will go train and hopefully meet him again in the future. He's horribly depressed, and goes off to try finding other survives from the teleportation incident.
That's where I am right now. This book has been very good, and helping fill in the story even more. I should be done with it and onto book 7 by Monday.
