Holy Fuck, that was fucking amazing. They absolutely should not change a thing in that pilot when it airs.

How much can this show be costing CBS because it was non stop special effects. They had more action in this then the whole Bradon Routh film.

I can't believe they brought the comic to life this well. The girl playing her is perfect.
If you follow the comics they just let loose a shit load of lore from it.

I must had watched a different one, because the Pilot I saw was a bit of a mess.
The CGI looked really shitty in places which normally I don't worry too much about except they filled half the episode with it.
The pilot felt so rushed, squeezing way too much into it and jumping from one thing to the next. Would have been way better as a two part opening, but even then there's just too much.

The overall premise seems decent enough and don't see too much wrong with the casting. Not even Flockhart. Hopefully it smooths out once the show actually starts.

I'd have to dis-agree with that. It's 100% aimed at the comic book/ super hero movie crowd there is no doubt. I can only see the new breed of nerdy girls really getting into it.

The tweens that are into twilight I bet will pass. It doesn't have the tropes like the angsty male character, and the girl constantly trying to win his affection at the cost of her own self esteem.

It's definitely more on the Buffy side of the nerd spectrum. So it will pull in those woman.

On another note,

I can't believe they already referenced Invasion in the first episode. I wonder how much they are going to do with that story line. Love to see Superman's clone eventually in this.

Oh, come on. The effects were pretty damned good for a TV show. There were only a couple of places where the CGI looked a little off. But the fight scenes were fantastic. Straight out of Justice League Unlimited.

Yeah, but you can't get around they have to be targeting that audience, I've read a fuckload of comics but I can't think of a single one with Supergirl in even an ensemble. Power girl yes, Supergirl nope.

Yeah because it's not like having an inferiority complex and trying to get out of her cousin's shadow has been one of Kara's defining characteristics in every single portrayal of her or anything.

For fucks sake, in the JLU cartoon she stayed a thousand years in the future so that she could be her own person.

Not sure what this means. Supergirl has been in many groups. Everything from Young justice , justice league etc

That's the only thing Im afraid of is the non comic book viewer because the Pilot was really heavy on the lore.

I hope they don't change anything to please those people tho because then it will become very bad.

Even if they don't follow the comics too much they can also steal Superman story lines, kind of like Arrow stole the Batman/League stuff.

That's still following the comics even if you deviate, or borrow from other characters story lines. What I meant is change the show into something like a soap opera with less ties to the spirit of the DC universe to cater to a certain demo of people.

Also I read they have access to the whole Super Family cast. Zod will probly be coming soon, and a young braniac 5.

They have a lot to work with in this tv series.

Well it means I haven't read Supergirl comics for the same reason didn't play with Barbie dolls or have a pink bicycle with a basket on the front. I can appreciate those things are enjoyed by a certain percentage of the population but I personally don't find them to my taste.

If I do watch this show it's because of the very nice ass she possesses.

Well Supergirl comics were written by males in a era were DC was famous for cheesecake. Tits and Ass

She Hulk was also super popular for Marvel.

You are trying to equate something to comics that hasn't even come into existence until the last 10 years. Comics has always been very male centric, only recently have they started trying to bring in a female audience.

I think it's more of a problem of you equating anything with a female lead as 100% having to be girly. Female leads can be fine, and still be strong for both males, and females.
Stuff like Danger Girl, Buffy, Wonder Woman etc..

Like I said in comics the early characters were specifically targeting male audiences with tits and ass.

Your view on entertainment is skewed because you are afraid that people will call you names or something. Isn't Tom Raider one of the more famous UK leads in a fantasy world to begin with? What does that say about the place you live if you think like that.

You could take the same standpoint on cartoons, as you do Female leads. Are you a child because you watch DC animated shows? because cartoons in america are still considered for children.

Grow a pair man, and like what you want. A male who can beat the shit out of anyone doesn't give a shit.
