I use MX Video player as well for watching stuff on my tablet. I use Plex for streaming stuff from my computer to my tablet, although I very rarely do that and normally just transfer stuff to my SD card.

Is it pretty laggy to stream HD to the tablet?

i stream h264 720p files over wifi to my tablet all the time with Zero problems if it is encoded correctly and you have a good connection i am using umm wireless N i think. mx video plays them via their hd+ codec like butter. (i don't do 1080p due to my tablet not being a 1080p tablet,

i use es file explorer for my file browser.

oh and Bn has Extended the Sale

Out of left field, my wife got me a MS Surface RT for my birthday. The surprise, after repeatedly being told it's out of our price range and budget, was totally worth it. Would have loved the Pro instead, but as my first tablet, this thing is pretty sweet. She got it with the keyboard cover that they are giving out free right now, so it was a sweet deal.

I have an android phone, and so I'm kind of missing all the apps available, but I'll get used to it, and I think Windows 8 is a beautiful mobile OS.

Just got my wife a Samsung Ativ 500T with full Windows 8 and it's a pretty amazing tablet experience.

11.6" in portrait is legit for FSR.

recently bought a gameklip, now just waiting for it to arrive and have to find a dualshock 3 controller in my house somewhere. Running Mupen64 for N64 ROMs, gonna try out some other emus too. My nexus is rooted so I can do the sixaxxis wireless thing but probably will just stick to wired controller so I don't have to recharge n stuff

the only question is, am I brave enough to wander outside with this thing or not

Are you able to use that for an extended period of time? Seems like the weight and torque of that setup would wear out your wrists and hands very fast.

Sorry bro, low duration, fast repetition, low force/torque movements will not prepare you for this. Unless, you're really hammering it home there.

My Nexus 7 takes forever to charge now. Over 18 hours from dead to full.

if anyone is interested the Nook Tablets are ON SALE right now

the 16gig 10" hd+ is 150 until the 16th. 32gig is 180. 7" version is 130.
In case anyone missed it, B&N extended this "limited time" deal. No word on when it's ending but $150 for a pretty good 9" tablet is an awesome deal. Especially since they un-tarded them so you can use the real google play store without rooting.

i mentioned they extended the sale, i bought one, it is great

Seriously Rooting the tablet takes 5 minutes a microsd card and a microsdcard reader

goto xda devs nook hd+ forum

go here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2062613

follow directions. it took me 5 minutes to download, format/copy zips & files onto microsd card then a reboot of the tablet, once in CWM, 30 seconds to install all the extras and the root.

i rooted because otherwise no amazon market or titanium backup

except for the new pin style, i like it alot

i also Recommend grabbing the HDMI adaptor, i tried it out worked great, it mirrors your display via hdmi including sound.

So a Galaxy Note 10.1 is like $500, Nexus 10 is $450, what else is out there? $150 does seem like a great deal for something 9" to use sitting on the couch and to play P&D on.

You can get a refurb Galaxy Note 10.1 for about $200 less than MSRP

I was lucky and snagged one on Woot for $250. The thing is a beast for $250, hell I paid like $220 for my Nexus 7 when it first came out.

It's only the 16GB version, but who cares, it has an SD slot. Buy another 64 gigs for like 40 bucks if you want it.

the Nook HD+ is a low/mid tier tablet. VERY well priced for what you get for 150/180 dollars(i'd get the one for 150 and spend the other 30 on a 32gig microsdcard). full google store, etc. the cpuisa bit weak for the screen size but for web browsing & watching video's/hulu+/amazon video(via browser)/netflix it is a great media tablet & for playing android games

heh for shits and giggles i installed dragon's Lair/space ace (80's cartoon video games by bluth) on it, runs great.
