Try Banana Republic, they have three cuts of shirts classic, slim, and tailored (actual terms may be different). Similar thing with pants. Probably the only store I can buy shirts at that don't need to be tailored in some way to fit well.

I wouldn't recommend Banana Republic. Everything I've ever bought from there falls apart within months. It's also incredibly overpriced. At least the stuff at BB is made well.

On the topic of suits I recently got a big boy job in which I will have to wear a suit to work 5 days a week. Now I only own 2 (for funerals and interviews) so which is the best fit for me with a tall athletic, athletic, build? I have about a grand to spend in which I need to get at least 3 suits. What is the word on the street about Jos Bank?

Their suits are pretty much garbage. They fit terribly and are almost all fused. You're going to need to tailor the shit out of them (and don't let the Jos A Bank tailors do it). But you're on a budget and you aren't going to find a better deal anywhere really. Make due with the Jos A Bank suits for now is my advice and then replace them as you get the money.

I once turned down a job based solely on the fact that they wanted me to wear a suit 4 days a week (on fridays, i could have left the tie and jacket at home .... yay casual friday). They told me this right at the end after we'd negotiated a salary, but before final agreement. They thought I was joking when I told them I needed more money to wear a suit.
