also, regardless of his braggadociousness and bloviating, the boring company is a real company, with real contracts, digging real tunnels.
And that was my entire point. What hes claimed with boring/hyperloop is so far from what has actually materialized. It was supposed to be amazing and something weve never seen before, a jet powered train in a vacuum tube that spans the country. Instead what we got is literally teslas in a tunnel beneath a city;

The first-of-its-kind tunnel loop project will open on June 8, simultaneously with a concrete industry convention that marks the first in-person convention gathering in the nation since the Covid-19 pandemic hit 15 months ago. Passengers will be whisked along the underground loop in a fleet of Tesla vehicles.
That is an absolute assfuck for the tax payers and really complete waste of money.

Way over your skis here and/or just making things up. The LVCC loop (LVCC stations below) is just between areas of the convention center (and soon dedicated lines to Resort World and Encore), and is well regarded thus far. In fact, with the deal the LVCVA got on the project over time they'd get their entire investment back if it didn't meet performance and throughput objectives.

If the 29 mile Vegas loop happens it remains to be seen, but it's Boring that's planning on footing the $1b cost for it, casinos will be paying for their stations. Initial approvals have been given by the county for this project to move forward.

The LV Convention Center Authority is funded by room tax, a fraction of a percent of a tax on hotel rooms paid for it so 99.99% by tourists, so no... no assfucking either (nor with our new Football Stadium or the Convention Center expansion, much larger projects a result of the same tax).

Biggest problem with any of this... there's no connection to the airport. That has to be addressed, and is a longstanding issue with mass transit in the past in Vegas, in the past this was due to the power of the Cab unions or something (but no idea now)... and is why the monorail is largely a joke with very limited usage other than going from resort to resort.

Yeah thats also not going to be a hyperloop. Its just more tesla in tunnels.

That angle always works like a charm. "Its not you getting ass fucked by the taxes so dont worry!". Its the exact same horrible logic that was used here to pass a tax to fund the Cardinal's stadium back in 2004.

The Boring company was never going to build a Hyperloop. Elon wrote about the possibility of it and suggested that someone should build one but never said that he was going to. The Boring company was always just a tunnel company.

To dream and dare is to talk shit and be wrong from time to time. We need more Elon's who dare and less assholes jousting at dead men who can't defend themselves or ideas.

10 days people!

I imagine a bunch of atheist at NASA and whoever made that found god and are praying like hell it makes it to its orbit and unfolds correctly.

Also a great example of what happens when you have a garbage space program. Have to design literal rube goldberg machines to fit inside small launchers.
