No, you can't. No PS3 emulators. The PS3 versions also have all the International Version extra content for the Japs (not really international) that wasn't released in the US.

Though there may be hacked files of that stuff being added into the English version that you could emulate.
FFX International was also the PAL version, so there's no new content there. If you only ever played the NTSC version then the Expert Grid and extra bosses will be new to you, but anyone who wanted to play it could just use a PAL ISO with PCSX2 along with some widescreen hacks to fix the ungodly mess Squaresoft made out of the PAL conversion.

FFX-2 International + Last Mission had extra content that was never available in English at all, so it's new to everyone who doesn't understand Japanese. Only way you could play it until now was to emulate a NTSC-J ISO and use a FAQ to get you through the JP menu text and Last Mission dialogue. If they'd made the Last Mission stuff in English, someone could have made a patch like the one for XII IZJS, but they didn't and so no one bothered to mess with it.

Whether or not it's worth spending $40 on vs. just emulating basically depends on how much you want to see extra story and dialogue past the end of X-2 and how much you like the garment grid battle system (since Last Mission is basically an 80 floor dungeon grind with breaks every 10 levels for them to stop and chat).

I would suggest ploughing your builders into the weapons shop for the "Fox Tail" axe, it has slightly less attack power than other endgame axes but has an insane number of extra attacks on it. Save up for one and when you get Pirate, you'll have some fun times (then go Swordsmaster after).
Have maxed my weapon shop now. Won't go past level 11 (I am not that far in, only just finished the first crystal). Only axe I unlocked in it was the "Grinder Axe" at 36k or somesuch. Can I continue to level up the weapon shop later in the story?

Question about classes, should I level them up to max (what is the max level?) or spread it around? I usually switch classes when they get to level 6. Level two people as casters and two as the melee things.

Also wondering about scanning with Examine. Do I need to do that to get them in my bestiary? I don't like using up a slot for the few freelancer skills I have.

There are 14 job levels per class. Usually the best skills are near the end or level 14 so i'd definitely not stop at level 6 for most jobs

If this follows the FFV formula (and it looks like it does to a degree), having everything maxed out will make your Freelancers by far and away the best class in the game. Hard to tell right now, but that's what I will be shooting for (I don't mind grinding out levels).

Crap sorry, it's in one of the parts shops - they all have weapons and armour at max level. Keep an eye out for it.

AP to level has a couple of "walls" where at lv6 it jumps to 1000 to level, then there is another jump later from 5000 to 9999 to level. So it's probally worth switching early on. The AP monsters give also jumps at certain points making it viable to level to max. The best abilities are all at lv15 and are quite imba. You'll need 2-3 specific ones at max later on to make your characters good, like Swordsmater+Pirate for free quad damage.

Ah. Thank you.

That is indeed the reason I switched at level 6. Figured I would rather get a few classes to higher levels to share skills and then go back to leveling a main class for the characters. White and black mage both high enough to cast level 2 spells for instance. Only annoying thing is the need for one of them to have the misc option from the Freelancer class, but it might be the most powerful one as Adam said. They do have the trait "late bloomer".

Pretty stupid that they waited 2 months after every where else to release BD in NA. Staggering software releases like this (especially considering very little MP load from this game) makes no sense.

What's the consensus on ff13-3 demo? Want to give it a shot, but don't want to waste even the little time it takes to play a demo.

Well if you play it you can unlock an extra costume(two if you are on PS3). One you get for just downloading it and the other you get for uploading your score with the in game online thing they have. Takes like 10 minutes or so, its just basically the tutorial.

If your concern is more gameplay related - it feels more like a "Tales of..." title gameplay wise with the normal gorgeous FF graphics. Story barely gets touched on as well if thats any concern.

My concern is FF13 is a goddamn abortion, and I don't know if I'm a masochist or whatever but I want to see if this one is remotely even worth it. I think this time around I'll wait for reviews from some websites.. can't trust here because certain fanboys will pump this game no matter what. I bought the CE of FF13-2 and felt so burned after I played it, because the demo made it seem cooler than it was.

Not liking FF13 is completely understandable.

Not liking FF13-2 is a matter of having bad taste!
I thought it was just ok. I actually enjoyed FF13 minus playing on rails and autoattack BS. FF13-2 was just a shitty, boring, fucked up story. The party mechanic was ok, but it was no FF.

Are the comments in that article about the second half being lazy and repetitive true about the game?

Yes, but I think it's lack of funding rather than laziness.

The first half which isn't repetitive and lazy is as much as a modern RPG and the repetitive parts of the second half can be skipped.
