It is pretty tasty, but it drinks more like soda than beer (in other words, you wouldn't want to drink more than two). I've heard of people adding a shot of stoli vanilla and serving over ice, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it myself.

Agree on the ice. I had it a couple times and as soon as it starts to warm up it tastes disgusting.

Did they increase their distribution? Looking at seek a brew they only show like two states. Wondering if I'll be able to find it. couldn't check today because of stupid Sunday alcohol laws.

I first saw it here in NC maybe 5 or 6 months ago, but only one store carried it. Now it's literally everywhere. Like every grocery store chain I've been in lately has it.

I've gotten in MN, and just didn't not care for it. Maybe it was too warm...

But I'd much rather just get some Barq's or A&W and spike it with Vanilla vodka.

Where in NC? I just went to a bunch of stores in my area and none had it. One said last time they got it they sold out of 10 cases within 4 hours.

Wilmington. I first saw it at World Market then later at Whole Foods, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, you name it. Hell even Food Lion had it the last time I was in there.

Same it just seemed to pop up in force around here maybe 4 months ago. I haven't tried it yet. Honestly my grocery store had such a large stock of it I assumed it was an InBev company that made it not an independent.

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to find a recipe on making a root beer like that. I know it wouldn't be an exact replica but maybe something even close.

Is nobody doing this but them really? I find that odd.

It's pretty new. I'm sure there will be clone recipes out there soon enough, just needs some time.

I guess it all got started with the hard ginger beers that started showing up a while back.

Samuel Adams did make a root beer. I don't think they do anymore. I've seen one called Sprechers. Jeremiah Weed has one. I've never tried any of them since I don't care for root beer to begin with.

There are literally 75+ 6 packs of the lower APV root beer at the grocery store down to street. Now I almost feel pressured into trying it.

I just love root beer and only like a few actual beers so if this tastes good I am happy! Plus that vanilla vodka shot to make it taste like a float? Winning!!
