I remember Pachter on gametrailers did an analyzis where he was absolutely sure Microsoft would go the way of subsidizing the console with cable companies and such because of the TV capabilities.Microsoft is utterly fucking retarded if the Kinect costs that much and if they could have sold the Xbone at a $300-350 price tag.
The PS4 is estimated to cost about $300-325 to build and the Xbone probably isn'tmuchless than that. Sony's thought to be making around $30-40 per PS4 I believe, so that means Microsoft is very possibly losing money on every unit or breaking even at best (not to mention the yield issues which have to be burning money).
Meh, I am definitely not a tin foil hat person. I don't think that they'd go that far. They just have some really bad management who truly believe that the Kinect is the future of printing money hats. They put more work into the engineering of the camera than they did into the system's own hardware, which from the sounds of it was pretty much just slapped together (Sony's APU actually has some custom stuff that AMD will use for their own products in the future that the Xbone APU doesn't have). They're really banking on the Kinect and the TV stuff to get them Mass Market. Maybe they're right and the world will fall in love with all that stuff, but I sincerely doubt it.I remember Pachter on gametrailers did an analyzis where he was absolutely sure Microsoft would go the way of subsidizing the console with cable companies and such because of the TV capabilities.
But when you look at the features they are so absolutely insistent on having despite what the consumers want and the obvious extra costs, one might start to think that certain intelligence agencies have pre-subsidized the console already.
They've admitted that it does do targeted advertising and records data for that, but I really do not think that it's going to purposely spy for the government and what/how it records would probably be of limited use to them. One source called the development of adverts for Xbox One "exciting", because, "the 360 console wasn't built with advertising in mind, it was more of an afterthought, so we've had to adapt to the technology and how we work to fit them in to the console, whereas this new one is going to have advertising in mind.
Well it seems Microsoft has built in an nsa backdoor into every version of windows since 1999, whether the nsa funds it or not they are definitely in bed together.Back to the tin foil hat - while I do doubt that they would collude with the government in the design of it, I do not doubt that they will take absolutely no steps what so ever to protect consumers and will comply with any mandate given to them once it does release. That's just par for the course though really. I think the scarier stuff is from an article linked before about how they talked about how they were excited that the Xbone is built from the ground up for targeted advertising:http://www.vg247.com/2013/07/04/xbox...omment-page-1/

This has been posted before, there's also the upcoming games thread:http://www.rerolled.org/showthread.p...-Games-of-2013Sean give us the break down on what games we can expect on both systems by Xmas - Im lazy and you like doing that shit
Why in god's name would you buy Multiplatform games on a vastly inferior system? Especially a primarily single player experience like Watch Dogs.Hmm, judging from the list id likely end up buying.
PS4 - Knack and KZ
XB1 - Watchdogs, and Ghost/BF4 (depends may be ps4)
Launch titles arent really that intriguing but the launch window looks decent.
"The controller was a very, very broad collaboration that went out to the game teams and even some of the third-party teams," said Cerny. "We looked at everything we could put into the controller and solicited feedback from the teams on what we should include."
It's good to see how much they're admitting to how many mistakes were made with the PS3, right down to the controller. Likewise with designing the PS4's hardware they also went to other developers on the controller, which is great. Fixing the triggers and sticks = huge."Historically we have heard many times that our controllers have not been ideal for first-person shooters," he admits, "so we wanted to make sure we had something that would be much better for that genre. We tested the throw of the triggers, the position of the triggers, how much pressure it takes. We looked at the joysticks, the dead spot, we looked at convexity and concavity." The end result, he says, "feels extraordinarily natural."
Still four months and already sold out because of gamers wait until the main streamers hear about it ...Still 4 months until they come out
