Alright guys, listen up. Apparently the term "PCfags" hurt some people's feels. Thusly, PCFags, Consolefags, Console Peasants, PC Master Race, and all such terms are Off Limits. Too many feels have been hurts.

(*This post entirely made in jest, anyone bitching about any of those things is just plain gol-darn hilarious.)
But making silly insults like Araysar does cause much butthurt, so don't do that guys, or he who never uses his mod power will do so.

Go make a PC MASTER RACE Master AWESOMES thread.
How about your weeabo ass can go fuck yourself in trying to decide what this thread is about?

There hasn't ever been a single console vs PC game that has played better on the console than a decent PC, ever. The laziest, most phoned in port of pretty much all time, Dark Souls, STILL was vastly superior on PC. It is completely legitimate to make the point that as long as only a few exclusives are coming out for each console, you are essentially paying $400 to play a game or two. The only possible advantage the consoles have now is that their hardware isn't too far being atm. However, in a year, when we finally do have abunch more titles out, then the PC hardware will be even cheaper and the consoles will still be $400.

That doesn't mean to not get a PS4. Some games aren't going to come out on PC. I'm going to get a PS4 also. However, only for the exclusives. I would never get a console if they ported over everything.

Well, to be fair, the thread does say Xbone Vs PS4 Vs PC. So since this thread is not based on consoles only, I do not think it is out of bounds at all to discuss why people should bypass this console generation entirely, especially since Steam has their shit together with great gaming deals, and with cross platform development, PC ports utilize the same type of controller control natively, with an addition of running in higher resolution and more power. The price difference after accessories isn't far off these days. Add in additional yearly fees to play games online which doesn't exist on the PC, the same functionality for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime - - Aside from some exclusives, the long run haul compared to what we have seen on market place pricing for Xbone (A joke) and even taking account better deals on the PS store and value of PS Plus - with Steam sales, mod-ability of PC games, the only thing really holding anyone from just using a PC in their living room becomes 8-10 games over the spam of a consoles life.

It isn't like these are the days of SNES/Genesis, or even 360/PS3 any longer. The market has changed in a rapid PC comeback, and with Sony and MS being so behind the 8-ball while the nickel and diming continues, PC makes the most sense when looking at overall cost to value. Again, purely in most part because of Steam, GMG, GOG, and new Amazon digital deals.
PC does have a lot of advantages, but people still buy console games in droves and will continue to do so. The PC versions of games are still by far the minority in sales, because not everyone wants to play games on PC. People like consoles, this is something that PC people find really hard to accept for some reason. PC "makes the most sense" to you, but not to everyone. I will still be having a console as my primary game machine this next generation, because I prefer to buy and play games on one over dealing with PC shit.

The last 3 pages of discussion are as relevant to console talk as it is necessary that PC is an option on the poll.

That is to say, it is not necessary.

I completely disagree. With the advent of Steam, cheaper gaming prices, console ports over to PC, and cheaper PC pricing models with better value. Considering all the consoles are doing is trying to become closer to a PC in the living room, you may as well just put a PC in the living room. With the added benefit of not being charged 49-59 a year for online functionality, with the same friend lists and ease of use. PC's are not difficult any longer. And as we have seen with a lot of console releases, online play is still equally as buggy on initial launch regardless of platform due to load, bad coding, etc. As of this point, again aside from exclusives, when I look at consoles this gen it's another way to add pay wall services to what should be free with a box purchase of a game - * Especially * when all these games are doing for the most part are using the peer to peer services and server migration via client side, including a consumers bandwidth.

It's a completely relevant discussion. Being it is a very viable alternative. Again, aside from exclusives.

Considering the absurdly high value of PS+ it's really dishonest to just call it "being charged 49-59 a year for online functionality". That's fair with Xbox Live Gold which is a meaningless, 0 value Paywall, sure, but definitely not for PS+.

You personally may not enjoy consoles, but many of us do. I can't imaginenotowning one. I prefer having a real physical copy of games and a system where I just turn it on and play. Plus, there are many dozens of games that I cannot get anywhere else. I have over 90 games that areconsole exclusivefrom this generation.Over 90. That's quite a bit more than the 8-10 that you personally were interested in.

I'm considerably less impressed with PS+. I have like two years of it running from here on out, but without fail almost every month I find myself saying "cool, but I played that like 3 years ago or bought it on steam for 2.50 at last christmas' sale." It gave me a huge Vita collection when I finally snagged one, so theres that at least. It would be nice if they gave us a couple options to select from, because the amount of bargain bin $5 steam-sale-from-over-a-year-ago stuff I get from plus is pretty much the majority. It's also bullshit that the EU plus selection is about 100x better than the US version. Some of the stuff they get makes me pretty jealous compared to the shit they've been shoveling off on us.

Where plus has been awesome is with the PS+ discounts on mobile stuff. I've snagged a lot of vita stuff really cheap and am happy about that.

Please just give me okami HD, plus.

Do you actually need to download a game from PS+ to be able to download it in the future? I was signed up for the last 6 months of PS+ but don't see any way to download ones that aren't currently available.

You can flag it for download and that's enough to "queue it" for later but assuming you've got PS+ running and you never log in to check and queue stuff it doesn't autoadd everything to your account (should though).

You need to start the download once to get it in your download history. Once it's there, you can download it any time as long as plus is activated. So if you didn't download any of that 6 months worth, you're screwed, sadly.

I agree with the added value of PS+. But again also agree with Tol. There isn't anything that popped up that wasn't a day late and dollar short from an Amazon or Steam sale.

By the time a game shows up for free on PS+, it's in the bargain bin or had a Steam sale for an absurdly huge discount. I would most likely change my mind if I owned a Vita, but fuck them for charging 100 bucks for a 32 Gig flash drive when I picked one up for my 3DS for 19.

That is not entirely true, there were newer games that got on there fairly fast like Sleeping Dogs.

Free is also Free and better than paying anything. Plus, Steam sales have been fairly underwhelming this past year. It is definitely not what it used to be.

There's also been a fair amount of console-exclusive games on the list.

Vita memory cards aren't AS gouged now - 32MB is $72 something now.Amazon.com: 32GB PlayStation Vita Memory Card: Video Games
That's still pretty damned awful. It's pretty retarded that they are down to around 20 bucks and that Sony is just massively price gouging on them.

The lowest I've seen them though is $45 at Bestbuy, sadly it was in-store only and there's not one around here. Not sure if the deal is still going on or not:32GB Sony PlayStation Vita Memory Card $45 + Free In-Store Pickup (Best Buy My Best Buy Account + Gamers Club Required) - Best Buy Deals, Coupons and Promos

Edit: Looks like it is over, the lowest you can get it from there now is $60 which still totally sucks.

This was available online for a little bit too. It was in stock for shipping when I first saw the deal, but I decided the 16gb one I have is good enough.

And the main reason why I prefer console is because I can sit on the couch and play with a controller. You can do that with PC as well I guess, as long as you like getting destroyed in multiplayer because you are playing against people using KBM.
