That's just as rediculous a statement. All things being equal Resolution would be the defining factor in image quality, but clearly what Veil is suggesting is that not all things are equal. A lower resolution image can look way better than a higher resolution image if other metrics weigh in the lower resolution images favor.

Considering that the onlyknownvariable between platform image quality right now is Resolution, it's a perfectly apt statement. He's trying to blow smoke up people's asses with that shit and nothing else.

The Xbone isn't going to have some magical extra settings that make it look better at 720p-900p than the PS4 will at 1080p. That's nonsense. The dude's posts are just non-stop wrong.

What good is it having something like extra foliage at a lower resolution if it's going to look like a bunch blurry green splotches. On my underpowered laptop I always turn down settings till I get an acceptable frame rate at 1080p cause playing in 720p just doesn't compare.

The first time ever actually showing the Xbone is at 0:54. And even then it's just 4 seconds of menu. Then it swaps to a cut scene from a game for all of 1 second (after watching a guy sit on his couch). Then a girl scrolling through a list of movies with her mind for 4 seconds. Then it's a kid watching video of someone else score a goal in a soccer game before swapping to Skype. Then just shy of 2 seconds watching Forza 5, a cut scene of Ryse (ha, the whole game is cut scenes) and that's it.

In 1:34 of commercial, you have roughly 20-21 seconds of actual xbox displayed footage.

But they'll bitch that PlayStation doesn't show enough games.

You realize that the movie picking with hand gestures, the skype call popup and answer docking to the side, the dashboard animating in, all that shit ispart of the interface, right? I don't know what you're expecting to see; the Xbone is gonna look like the current interface but a bit more Windows 8-y.

Lenas, I didn't say they were bad. I said that in the ENTIRE commercial, those 20-21 seconds of footage were the only actual Xbox One things shown. It showed almost nothing for game play. Just a few extra things you can do. Isn't the biggest complaint against Sony's commercials that they don't show enough gameplay? This had way less. That's all I was saying.

Judging solely as a commercial, I would say the idea is a good one, but the execution lacks confidence: why have a voice over that explains what is shown?

It's awesome bro, go get one. It's a gigantic leap over the pile of shit that is the Dualshock 3. I've been loathing every second that I've had to play games with a DS3 lately, hopefully the DS4 works for all the PS3 only games that are still coming out through the next year.
