Frankly I think it'd be better if every console had 0 apps and only focused on playing games.

Fuck that other noise. Shit was better before all this multimedia garbage invaded my game systems.

I use pandora because I can listen to it at work, at home, and also my iphone will stream it to my car. If there are other apps that do that, I don't care to upgrade.

Don't really need it on my PS4, but I'll take it.

Stupid omission, not because I'd use it but more because removing features present on last gen is not a good thing.

I stopped caring about last gen features being implemented when everyone abandoned backwards compatibility, the only last gen feature I ever cared about. That's just me though.

Its bullshit that to play GTA 5 I gotta keep my ps3 plugged up too.

Honestly, I think they should have removed every single app from it and only made it play games + dvds/blu-ray discs. Focused it purely on playing games and tooled the OS entirely to that. Then knocked the price down to $350-375.

Then made sure that the VitaTV would launch along side it as a companion device and have every single app on that device. Make a bundle with the VitaTV that was cheaper than buying it separate.

Backward compatibility of some sorts is supposed to come in 2014 -- we'll see just how well streaming the content is going to work. That said, it would be pretty amazing if they made available the entire PS3 (and maybe even PS2) library free with a PS+ subscription.

I don't imagine there will be much, if any, revenue coming from these old games. But freely making them available is good advertisement for the gaming studio and would help them sell sequels. It'd also provide the PS4 with a massive gaming library within a year of its release.

They're gonna have to do something like that because I'm not rebuying any more games, ever again.

One buy, either they support it or they don't, but they're not getting me to buy multiple times over.

About future RPG on next gen, that RPGamer site is missing Ubi's Child of Light (though, who knows how it will turn out to be in the end). Tentative date is 2014.



EDIT: How and for the 'I bought a PS4 without games' crowd, let me lobby once again in favor of Flower. Very original, relaxing and beautiful game. The discourse is also a lot more nuanced than one could initially fear. Short game, but this gets often replayed for the pleasure of it and demo'ed to gamer and non-gamer visitors alike.

Is Spotify that much better than Pandora? I have been using it for years now and last spring I shelled out the 36 bucks for one year to not have commercials. Just haven't bothered with any other music services : /
