Amazon has never missed a release date for me. I wonder why they are shipping late to all of Canada. Seems like there is some info we are missing.
This was the canned response I got from the rep:

02:08 PM(GMT) Mary Bhagiam(CSA): Yes, #####. All the launch edition of the item are shipping on 15th of November. We only offer the Release-Date Delivery option when we know we can get the item from our suppliers in time to meet our delivery promise to you.

It just doesn't make any sense to me though..

They are not shipping late. UPS isn't fucking anyone. Two day delivery gets upgraded to release date delivery, which goes out as one day delivery. Jesus stop freaking out people. Your playstation will be there by 8 pm tomorrow evening.

Amazon and UPS could ship 12 hours prior to delivery and hit 98% of the population of the US anyway.

Mine hasn't even shipped yet and I'm not even sweating it. It will be here around 530 pm tomorrow evening. Just like every single other thing I've ever ordered from Amazon and had delivered through UPS

At least y'alls consoles are on the way. Newegg still hasn't shipped mine. That next day shipping better fucking work as advertised.
Newegg, however, is shitty and you should have preordered at Amazon. You'll probably still get it in time, but its newegg so you just never know.

Also if you're Canadian, it'll probably be there tomorrow and the online rep you talked to was just dumb or doesn't know what they're talking about. Unless you live in Northern Nunavut, then good fucking luck.

If it's at a UPS facility you can probably call them up and go and pick it up.
Nope. From past experiences with UPS, they HAVE to attempt to deliver a package at least once. If it doesn't work, THEN and only then are you able to pick up from the shipping depot.

Ive tried that before with stuff Ive ordered in the past and they wont let you. Ive been told each time that one attempt has to be made to deliver the item to your house before they can release it to you at the sort facility.

edit- Xar beat me to it, but yeah, same story.

I think this is going to be the first time i actually pay for an "extended warranty" or whatever the fuck gamestop offers, I don't trust this launch at all

The reason you can't just call and pick it up without a delivery attempt is because when the package goes through the sort facility, it is immediately put on a truck for delivery. So they have to attempt to deliver it, then if they fail to deliver it (which only happens if you had to sign for the package for delivery and you weren't home, which these packages don't need a signature anyway, they're left on your front porch) they return it to the sort facility, where it is put in returns for pickup that afternoon. If the pick up isn't scheduled or you don't go up there and get it in the one or two hours you can each evening, then the package is sent back through the sort facility and put back on a truck for second attempted delivery.

So I got all my games in yesterday, and an Extra PS4 controller.

Not too fond of the new PS4 controller. Yes, it's better then the original, but I still think the original 360 one is the best design so far.

The triggers and top bumpers are still way too soft, and I never liked the 2 analog sticks being on the bottom.

Is this the first time you guys have ever ordered something for release date delivery from Amazon? And something this big of a launch? Jesus. Relax. You will get it but it might not be until later in the day because they have to make so many extra stops...

When Diablo 3 came out my UPS tracking wasn't updating until the morning of delivery and I got it when promised. Same with Dance with Dragons. This happens all the time with big pre-order events.

Does anyone know if this is a "sign when delivered" thing? I have a crap ton to do tomorrow and can't sit home all day (even though i want to lol)

You really are the worst ever.
Silence shill!

But back to the controller. On the 360 version the top bumpers are mechanical versus the new PS4 controller which are really soft.

The trigger on the 360 has much more tension, and feels like a trigger versus the new PS4 controller that has no tension at all.

The analog placement is subjective, but it makes much more sense imho to put one on the top.

No they will leave the package on your doorstep. You should be there to get the delivery though, if you live in a large town, there's always the possibility someone yanks your ps4 box while its on your porch.

I'm only saying this to freak you people out even more!

I find the 'springy' triggers on the 360 to feel cheaper, really. That said, the bumpers on the 360 are better, I agree. Everything else about the DS4 I like a lot better than the 360 pad though. I wonder if they fixed the d-pad on the Xbone pad, compared to the 360. That thing was the worst.
