Just AC and FO4 for me at this point, everything else is out I think. [And AC I'm waiting till after FO4 I think - I was going to get it early, but PSN keeps bugging out so I'm taking it as a sign to wait]

Grabbing old stuff with sales though.

Just Halo at the moment, will certainly get a couple of the others, only so much time in the day.

Divinity: OS EE, Fallout 4, Just Cause 3, and Lightning Returns (PC version still allegedly due in December, even though it doesn't have a Steam store page yet). And finally getting around to playing PS4 Uncharted this week.

Mostly I'm just looking forward to Q1 2016.

Ah, forgot Divinity - probably it too, assuming it's schedule appropriate - got a ton to playthrough ATM already and got a feeling it won't stay $60 for long, that seems really overpriced for a PS4 version of something that's been out so long on PC. [But wife might insist on it sooner, but would be for her, not me]

Well Divinity is this tuesday. Personally that's like the only thing I'm excited for, which is weird cause it's not even a new game but I really liked the original and really looking forward to replaying the game with the new hard difficulty and shit, should be great since the most fun in the game is when you couldn't aoe 1round everything down with your OP warrior/rogue and instead had to mass crowd control and shit.

Fallout even though it should appeal to me, doesn't. I've tried to play 3 and New Vegas a few times but can't get into them, I think it's the setting, I just don't like it very much compared to like cyberpunk/futuristic or the traditional fantasy settings.

Console stuff, nothing really appeals to me, I never liked AC, Just Cause sounds kinda fun but meh, Uncharted I guess I should play at some point but I need to buy the remakes first. Only thing I can think of I want to play on consoles soon-ish is the remake of Odin's Sphere since I never really got to play that and it looks great but that's like next year and if we go next year, there's a bunch of other stuff too without set dates yet.

Luckily, it's not like I don't have a shit ton of stuff to play anyway, my backlog isn't shrinking cause I can't be bothered playing anything. Of note for example, I still need to play the Witcher 3 and Pillars of Eternity, but at this point I figured I'd just wait for all the DLC/expansions to be released and play them once it's all done. I still have shit like Wasteland 2 director's cut(haven't played the original either), a bunch of Ys, a bunch of Etrian Odyssey(3DS) and a lot of other stuff.

Game looks terrible anyways
Nobody is expecting this game to be some badass ultra fun experience. It's just incredibly interesting, and appears to be one of those landmark moments that come around in gaming every now and then (harvest moon, second life, minecraft, EverQuest etc). I don't understand how any gaming enthusiast couldn't be stoked to try this.

Probably because most of us don't get a "landmark moment" feel from the game at all.

We could be wrong, but I'm taking a wait and see approach to it.

Really? A mathematically generated Galaxy that blurs the line between single and multiplayer experiences doesn't tickle your pickle?

Different strokes I guess.

Not really. Multiplayer is so meh to me at this point. Really was never my thing. I think I got enough of playing video games with other people on the internet in WoW. 40 man raids was enough for me to realize most of the people out there are appallingly atrocious human beings not worthy of my time to relate to.

Well then you'll probably enjoy NMS. Given the vastness of the universe, and the fact that each player has a randomized starting point, it's statistically unlikely that you will ever (naturally) encounter a another player. Hell, I'm not even sure if they've included social tools (p2p trading, chat, grouping) in the game at all.

The interesting thing to see will be the emergent gameplay that I predict will arise. How will players overcome these hurdles to play together? What will they do once together? What new things will be possible? How will Hello Games respond?

I'm super stoked to see it.

i think i remember reading all of what you just wrote about spore

i'm sure i'll enjoy NMS but its probably going to launch at a digital $60 pricetag, which seems a huge rip off to me

I mean...the game isn't out. Why does the price tag seem like a ripoff? We have no idea if the game will suck or be good yet.

I'm intrigued, for sure, but I'm also not someone who gets hyped about any game any more. I'm always skeptical and rarely buy games right when they come out. I can't remember the last game I bought sight unseen. I almost always wait for the suckers on ReRolled to test them for me first!

Spore released long before the 'second screen' era. The social possibilities that could arise from companion apps are what's going to make NMS interesting imo.

Also, did players even share the same universe in spore? I can't remember.
