I bought three years worth of card when it was on sale two christmas's ago, and my son plays so many of the games theyve released on there that I feel like Ive more than gotten my monies worth tbh

Yeah I bought a couple years too, and I got my money's worth (BUT ONLY WITH PS3 GAMES). I just wish they'd release something worthwhile. I mean give me Knack for christ's sake, even if it sucks. GIVE ME SOMETHING GODDAMNIT

Yeah, I still have like 2 years left on mine from when I loaded up right when PS4 launched. It's really been shit though. The shitty games for November are actually a "good" month compared to recent ones.

Really weak month for me (although I will say, never played Magicka 2, it might be worth it) - but thusfar the money has been easily made sense for each year so far - not far over making sense, but hitting ~$80 of value or so I've cared about each year.

Definitely a far cry from when I was getting $200+ of value out of it during PS3's heyday though.

great deal on an xbox one this week at best buy. $50 best buy GC with any xbox one purchase, plus a free $60 game. effectively making it a $240 console. doubt you'll see a better deal even on black friday. You can wait until tuesday and get the 1TB lara croft console too or use it to grab the beautiful forza or Halo bundles (they are $400+ tho).

for those who love to scheme gamestop is currently offering $250 trade in for any ps4 or xbox one console, so you could trade in your xbox one, buy $250 on ebay gift cards, use those to buy $250 of best buy gift cards (4-5 hour wait time each step for GCs to activate) and basically trade in your 1-2 year old console for a brand new one at best buy for under $100 out of pocket.

i'm sorta tempted but my xbox one is a Sunset overdrive edition which is white and rare

Hmm, do you? I don't see that on the explanation page at all... can't get the free game to work on preordering the system though... (which apparently releases 11/3 unlike the game... weird... guess it's a digital code)

And there we go - found the text - 11/6-11/8 on the free game without any other clause. $50 GC ends 11/7 so there's a brief overlap. [doesn't apply to pre-orders though, so if the 11/3 date on the Lara console is a glitch it won't work for it]

the lara croft console is available next tue (11/3) but the game itself doesn't unlock until 11/10. you get a digital voucher in the console so its basically like preordering on the xbox online store. you could probably sell it for $40-50 too on ebay. so yeah, forgot the free game deal is 11/6-11/8 (next weekend) so have to wait until then to double dip. you could buy now and go back to best buy to get the free game, they are pretty good about that kind of thing if its within the return period.

you won't get taxed on the gamestop dealio, since gift certs don't get taxed on purchase (you get taxed when you USE the gcs). you will obv have to pay sales tax on the console itself though
