the console wars are really heating up this week, amazon is now throwing in a free copy of mad max (great game) with any xbox one purchase this week. Remember, this friday and saturday at best buy you get a $50 gc and free copy of any game (they are pushing black ops 3 which releases friday) with the purchase of any xbox one. If you are on the fence I'd jump on one of these deals, I doubt you will see better on black friday. You may want to leave it unopened for a week though and see what shenanigans are going to occur with the Battlefront launch, maybe even crazier deals. All retail stores now have holiday return policies in effect, you have until mid January to return UNOPENED consoles/games.
pass on the xbox one elite controller though, I have one and its totally not worth $150. paddles feel sorta cheap and too sensitive, the controller itself feels nice but $150.... nah

I was all set to go pick it up today, but then I saw spronks post about the weekend deal. Think best buy will match it today? I guess worst case i could just return the console on Friday and rebuy as part of that bundle (or wait...but if I make my friend wait much longer to play halo with me, he might kill me and make some hobo wear my face while he plays).

As cheap as they're getting there's no reason not to have both unless you're strapped for cash. I end up playing more xbone just because most of my friends have them for whatever reason, but in motion there's really not a lot of difference between them. I'll buy the game for whichever system has the better community among the gaming sites I frequent. Destiny, for instance, is hands down a better community on the ps4.

Most of the guys here posting have a PC so it's hard to get them on a console anyways. PS4 is superior but is far from perfect and that UI is atrocious and buying games like

Yeah it's worth having at these prices. Let me at least put it this way. It's good to have competition because it benefits us all with these sales. Just root for both even if you don't want a xbone.

I have been close to pulling the trigger on the xbone, just becouse. I need to keep talking myself out of it as I doubt it's worth it these days with very few exclusives. I did want to play sunset overdrive, halo does not do it for me...I ended up pre ordering steam link instead.
Picked up alien isolation for $20, rerolled comments seem pretty good, not my normal genre but we shall see.

Same - I can't wait for Rise of the Tomb Raider for 6-9 months myself - really enjoyed it and justifies it to me. Plus the OTA DVR will be nice as a secondary DVR + a DVR period if we eventually cut the cord completely.
Also had terrible luck on 360's so really didn't play anything but a few 360 games, so backwards compatibility is icing on the cake for me.
I have no reason to buy a Xbox at this point. Most stuff is on PC or PS4 anyway so I'm not missing much. Then the xbox exclusives simply aren't very good IMO. Halo used to be great and even the fanbois aren't glowing about this most recent one. I played the last gears of war and its ok but I'm fatigued on that series at this point. Tomb raider will be out on PS4 so I'll just wait on that. Nothing else of interest.
Compared to what sony is offering I see no reason to let an xbox collect dust in my entertainment closet. The other stuff I'll play on PC and what very few things Xbone has exclusive I find to be mediocre at best.

patient gamers heads up - Target is going to run a B2G1F on ALL games from 11/8 - 11/14. Pretty decent for bundling stuff like Call of Duty 3, Fallout 4, and Tomb Raider or Halo 5 or Uncharted Collection or Assassins Creed Syndicate for essentially $40/ea.
Best Buy GCU + preorder is still a better deal but this is good for those who don't have GCU and want to stock up on holiday games for themselves and as gifts. No limits afaik, so you could buy 3 copies of Fallout 4 if you want.

Yeah did it last year and got 3 copies of advanced warfare for me and the brothers in law, no problems.
Probably gonna do fallout and divinity and get cod as my free game. Fun game to just hop in and kill shit.
