Without going back and reading 800 pages.... Which should I get or which console is considered better? I'm about to pick up a next gen soon and the only friend I play with regularly on consoles has both.

Probably correct, the Skyrim one though does throw a small question mark though - since Bethesda was known to give 360 preference last gen and they don't have any next gen yet to say if they've broken that trend.
But I'd still lean PS4 regardless.

Ya listen to $pronk. Xbox has been doing a great job playing catch up thanks to CEO Phil Spencer and to be honest it's fantastic owning both consoles (and I am on Xbone waaaay more now due to their current vision). If you have to have one now go PS4 otherwise wait and see.

2 questions.
1) Why does everyone like downloadable games (full games bought online) so much ?
I don?t get, it get the convenience of buying a game while sitting on your butt, but my HD is full of PS+ freebies, save files, and utility data. It would drive me batty to only have 10 games installed on my PS4 as they max out my HD. Most importantly, why are you guys not trading in your games after you are done with them? It rustles my jimmies to no end that I got messed up and bought D3 form the PSstore. Now that I have the expansion, D3 is utterly worthless, but I could have gotten $15 towards a new game. Buy disks Trade that shit in so I can buy your trade in games !
2) As mentioned above, Both my Ps3 and PS4 have full HD?s I am going to try and upgrade them both. Has anyone done this themselves, how hard is it? The cell/console repair shop in my town says they can do it for $45 per machine + HD cost. I want to give my PS3 the PS4 500G hd (currently have a 120g) and upgrade my PS4 to either a 1TB or 2TB. Can I do this myself or is $90 for the pair a good enough deal to not bother with messing it up? To give you an idea of my tech skill, I can build my own computer but when I do I get the dealer to put together the MB/CPU and Case before I add the easy stuff. I can screw and plug, but don?t want to solder. Has anyone tried using a Solid State in the PS4 or is it just to much cash for the size you need?

I don't have full hard drives and I dislike having to swap discs when I want to play something else. Most of the PSN stuff is garbage except for a few gems so they get tried and deleted quickly.

1) I share accounts so we get brand new games basically for $30
Instead of $60. I got tons of HD space and love having 1.5 TB of space
2) super easy to install just use a blank hd .

I have 54 games installed on my Xbox One and 28% of my 2.5tb storage used. Maybe a half dozen are demos, another dozen are download only games, maybe 1-2 are timed evaluations or betas I haven't deleted (Hardline, Sunset Overdrive). Several are from EA Access but I'd probably own a few of those otherwise.
I can play all of them with a couple button presses, that's why I buy digitally when it makes sense, and it makes sense usually at sub 50% retail or so.
PS4 we have a few digital titles, but not as much for the One, we lean towards more purchases for the latter because it's more convenient (input 1, always on) is all.

I only buy digital if its a killer sale (like Tomb Raider for $15 or whatever it was on PS4 )

Internal 500gb + the 2tb external storage
I'll probably get something similar for the PS4 just to never have to uninstall anything for a long time if they ever decide support more than just external backups.
