You can also control Spotify on the PS4 with your PC or phone while in a game. The PS4 Spotify UI is horrible anyway, I use other things to control it even when I'm only listening to music and not running anything else.

360 wired controller is probably the easiest to setup/use because as many people have said it's just so widely supported.

With five minutes of setup time--maybe ten if you have to fresh-install a BT dongle too--the DS4 has the exact same amount of support. As far as the PC is concerned it *is* a 360 controller (with a touchpad that can do a whole bunch of extra stuff). It's like the difference between using a plain old 5 button mouse and a MMO mouse.

The original Dark Souls was too hard and frustrating for an impatient old man like me. I could tell it was amazing and would have loved it when I was younger, but it just frustrated the shit out of me when I played it a few years back.

If you found Dark Souls too frustrating I'm not sure you'll fare any better in Bloodborne. It's a much faster-paced game than any of the Souls series, and if you venture far into the optional chalice dungeon content it's also vastly more difficult than anything From has done before. Don't try playing TW3 on Death March either, for that matter.
