I've never been a fan of how everything was in apps. Love the new guide but the last couple of preview updates it has gotten slower and slower, something they improve hopefully. I'd even take another 3-4 seconds of load time on boot (if there's a profile w/ auto-login present) if it went and fetched all that data rather than when it's first accessed.

Biggest pet peeve still remains, watch a video clip from a store page and the whole thing refreshes when you go back (presumably to refresh the broadcasts and video listings), wish they could just refresh the content blocks without doing the entire page.

Preview has seemed to kill my Kinect, wife running out of patience but holding out until the full NXOE is deployed to deal w/ support. Might pick one up at BB while they're on sale since I'd be able to return it in w/in 45 days.

I like the guide, just hope it speeds back up as the builds progress.

I hope Newegg has some good PS4 deals soon. One of the few sites that doesn't charge tax for Nevada.

XBone deal a few pages back is live now... for people that care about the free financing stuff they do - apparently 18 mos on $479 or up as well, so if you're doing it, easy to qualify with a smidge more as well. [Giving me an excuse to get the extra PS4 controllers for the wife and I finally - Fallout 4 will make it necessary I'm sure, hah]

lmao Tony Hawk is already down to $20
Man I loved the first couple games as a kid, they actually got me into skateboarding and I ended up losing like 50 pounds.

I was pumped for this game and when I saw the reviews and the reviewers couldn't even make it through the segment without laughing I just knew it was bad

Not even worth $20

patient gamers heads up - Target is going to run a B2G1F on ALL games from 11/8 - 11/14. Pretty decent for bundling stuff like Call of Duty 3, Fallout 4, and Tomb Raider or Halo 5 or Uncharted Collection or Assassins Creed Syndicate for essentially $40/ea.

Best Buy GCU + preorder is still a better deal but this is good for those who don't have GCU and want to stock up on holiday games for themselves and as gifts. No limits afaik, so you could buy 3 copies of Fallout 4 if you want.
Can you do the B2G1 online from Target?

What is this Best Buy GCU + Preorder deal? I'm planning on waiting for Black Friday deals and picking up a PS4 but a B2G1 deal for games sounds like pretty sweet timing to pick games up even before I have the console.

Nah, been off the MMO grind a bit - I thought I was when we last PMed even? Late December or so I will be back on for a bit, but instanced raids supposedly so should be easy to schedule to do both... and not going to bother if the instancing falls through.

Taking a break this week after WL2 Plat though (#4 worldwide according to PSNProfiles - wee?) - FO4 (and Rise of the Tomb Raider) in just a few days means I won't finish anything I don't plow through this weekend and Kingdom Death: Monster (boardgame) is keeping me quite occupied right now between assembly and play. (Basically Dark Souls the board game w/ some civilization/RPG elements - amazing... expensive, but amazing... dare I say the perfect hardcore boardgame)

Vaclav, you are a traitor and hereby kicked out of the Sony Army. We will remember this.
I've always said they'd entice me with exclusives eventually once it was priced more appropriately. I like the concept of the media features (hell, I'm still a TiVo loyalist - loving my Bolt) and Tomb Raider, backwards compatibility (I had many 360's but they'd always break on me after like 1-2 games just after warranty was up), and some other exclusives I'd like to pick up as well - I can justify one for the wife and I to share. Plus the potential of the OTA DVR just sounds nice if/when we'd ever ditch cable completely.

We won't be getting two like we've done with PS4s - that level of demand doesn't exist in this house.

gamers club is a program best buy has, pay $30 for 2 years and you get 20% flat discount on all new games making all new $60 games $48+tax. Since you are saving $12 per game, if you buy at least 3 games in two years you will cover the cost.

seperate from that, whenever you pre order one of the games on a specific list from best buy you get $10 in reward zone points 15 days later, which you can roll onto new purchases. The list is pretty small now since most games have released this year, it'll get updated next year to add new games

new games are $48+tax but get $10 off that if you preorder, making em $38+tax. Best Buy (stores) also accept games as trade in and usually pay (into best buy gift certificates) pretty decently the first 1-2 months of a game. For example I pre ordered Assassins Creed Syndicate for $48, got $10 preorder bonus, played and platinum'd in 6 days, and traded it in for $43.20. They paid me $5 to play it. Same with Halo 5, Gears of War, Bloodborne, and pretty much most AAA new console games.

This weekend you can also donate $25 to the twitch stream TheRace and get a free GCU kit, but it may take a few weeks for it to get to you (so not a great idea if you want to buy something NOW). All proceeds go to help vets get jobs and activision is matching dollar for dollar too.

Re: Target B2G1, I don't think anyone knows. Last year it worked online. Doesn't everyone have like 4 target stores within 5 minutes of them anyways.

just got back from gamestop, pretty good deal going on anyone who wants an xbox one or has a 1-2 year old one. They are offering $250 in trade value for any xbox one. That's how much I paid last year for my sunset overdrive one. When you buy a new xbox one this weekend, you get any $60 game for free and a free xbone wireless controller.

I bought the elite xbox one ($499, comes with no game but an elite controller and 1TB SSHD inside) which is also matte not glossy. $250 after trade in, but the clerk let me drop it down another $50 instead of getting the free controller, and let me pre order Tomb Raider as my "free" game (could have preordered Fallout 4 also but I'm playing that on PS4). So for $200 I got a new xbox one and tomb raider and a new $150 elite controller (already got one, they are nice). Deal runs until sunday but stores will probably start running out of elite bundles tomorrow.

You could also just trade in towards any of the $349 bundles like gears of war, halo, etc which means a tradeup will only "cost" you $50-100 (depending if you want a 2nd controller or not) and you'll walk out with a new game too.

Microsoft is pushing super hard to win Nov/Dec NPD sales numbers, they are the ones giving away any game with new xbox one purchase and a controller. Amazon has matched it as well, but only gamestop is offering $250 when you trade in your old system. They will also give $100 for certain ps3/360 systems, so could walk away with an xbox one, 2nd controller, and a game for $0 if you trade in an xbone and 360/ps3.

not really, clerks only remember people who are assholes or argue a lot, I much prefer the ninja style of being quiet, never arguing, and just getting my shit done. I also give them free swag i get at conventions and stuff so the gamestop managers pretty much love me

sometimes a new person says out loud though "holy shit you have $1800 in trade credit!" or something, fortunately i live in white suburbs and don't have to worry about jamal jacking me

gamestop black friday ads are out, $299 for ps4 or xbone one basically. so this weekend deal is better
