I really don't get the PS4 UI complaints. It's simple, clean, and 100% functional. It does exactly what you need it to do.
In contrast, the Xbone UI looks like a bunch of busy dogshit and is ugly as hell.

The complaints are mostly about the lack of customization from what I've seen. And I'm sure that's something that will be expanded upon in time.
Watching streams it does seem a little jarring that there's so much customization allowed on PS3 that isn't on PS4 right now - the UI seems more functional, but less pretty FOR NOW as a result of it.
Xbox's UI is just more Metro shit, which I'm frankly tired of already as a design and interface concept. Squares suck!

Yeah that is the case for me. As far as a UI itself, it's quick, responsive, and easy to navigate. I just wish I could use my old themes from PS3, or customize it a bit. With that said, Xbox's UI is an abortion simply because there is so much ad shit plastered everywhere with about 56 boxes all over the place. The blade system on launch (Of the 360)was much more user friendly.
And that's exactly what the PS4's UI is. It does exactly what it needs too. It's super quick and responsive and does its job, I don't need a bunch of crazy customization and themes for it. I spend 99.99999% of my time in games, not dicking around in the UI, but when I need to be in the UI, it needs to be clean and quick.

Primarily the ability to order the damn apps, get rid of some of the apps etc.
Give me some folders, let me remove the "WHATS HAPPENING LIVE" or whatever the gay streamer app is, I don't care about that what so ever. Once we start having 20+ games installed, that thing is going to be super cumbersome.
I do think it will be awesome once they give more organization, its already pretty solid. Once it has some more of these organizational features its gonna be a beast.

I'm somewhat discouraged by the amount of pay to win bullshit that is in 2k14. I have a feeling it is only going to get worse which is completely ridiculous when you're already paying $60. The gameplay is great but all the myGM/myPlayer stuff seems pretty poor. Outside of Football Manager I haven't really played sports games since NFL 2k5 but it almost feels like season modes are more limited than they were 10 years ago.
Is it worth picking up Black Flag today while it's $50? Are we talking a year until it's $20 or longer?

I agree. Change the backround and move stuff around / folders would be nice on the UI. Otherwise I like it far better than the Metro abortion.
Another thing I'm noticing is that I just had a large download for DCUO pending when I fired up out of standby mode. That stuff needs to download and install in the back round not wait for me to fire up the machine.

That's weird, it's dl'd tons of stuff while in Standby for me so far. Maybe it's DCUO specific.
Jesus fuck, booted it up for the first time and it's doing that 3D effect shit to show it. And oh my god, extremely painful headache. That shit is going right the fuck off.

You have to adjust the toggle to the proper distance for how far you hold the screen from your eyes and look at it straight on. Its frustrating. Most people don't use the 3d at all.
It works really well in the new zelda though. And in the mario 3d land. Nothing else has done it properly though.
