Yeah SBs reactions seemed fairly normal given that he has been on ice for decades. But it's current year so he is a bigot racist nazi.

I remember Antony Starr and the cast of Banshee live tweeting each week as episodes premiered. God that show was great. Anyway, he plays there dour terse characters (Homelander, Lucas Hood) on screen but is quite the opposite in personality.

ps.. the idea of a show's main stars live tweeting during an episode each week was brilliant and it escapes me how it didnt really catch on.

I watched all of season 2. I did not watch Season 3 as a result, but followed the updates here. I just watched the last episode. So at end of Season 2 they all grouped up to defeat the evil white supremist. At the end of Season 3 they all team up to defeat a new evil white supremist. Am I getting this right?

Different strokes for different folks but I liked S3. It is a whole lot more nuanced than. While the writing has flaws, I am ok with the rationale for the final episode going sideways with HL, SB and Butcher.

Is it a 10/10? No. But overall the season was very enjoyable. I looked forward to a new episode each week.

ymmv.

Wandavision was more interesting than season 2. This season was much better.

Season 3 was Solid gold until the finale. I think we were talking about the finale making an incredible season or fucking up everything on the last stretch

Kripke killed off only characters that nerds would care about, Soldier Boy was someone you would want in War, dude was legit old school follow orders and never buckled. Hes not even close to Homelander evil.

Homelander kills people over little shit like like an insult

Soldier boy has so much more integrity than everyone it's ridiculous

It's not like soldier boy was actually there on D-Day. They made it sound like it was all just photo ops and he didn't do any actual fighting. When they went to Nicaragua to actually fight it seemed like it was out of the norm for them to do actual combat missions. Probably just the same kind of managed operations that was happening with Homelander's team's crime fighting.

Was soldier boy as powerful then as he is now? Obviously he got buffed during his torture. Homelander forces himself on women or will kill them if they disagree. Soldier boy just gets insecure and to be honest hated his team because the we're weak and complete backstabbers

homelander literally says to maeve he would never force himself on Maeve, kinda makes the whole Butcher's wife thing a bit sus. Did we ever see her (Butchers wife) talk about it to anyone in show in season 2? There were a lot of theories that she and Homelander were having a consensual affair but I dunno if that got traction or debunked in season 2, just stopped caring about dialogue or anything in season 2 at some point.

Scene where Homelander tells Maeve he would never force himself on Maeve, but instead is gonna harvest Maeve's eggs to make supe babies:

Don't get me wrong, Homelander is a massive scumbag and its horrifying to tell a woman you are keeping her alive to harvest her eggs, but its interesting to see how villains define themselves and the lines they won't cross. The other twist though is that Maeve is a supe while Butcher's wife wasn't, so how much does Homelander view Maeve as one of "his" people while Butchers wife as a "mud person".

That homelander stuff was always odd, it doesn't follow a real pattern. Homelander has always had a horrible God complex. Soldier boy felt insecure in Nicaragua when his charm didn't work and went back to the fight

Also fuck the writers, you can't pull a shamalan bullshit showing what happens in the 70s/80s then have a twist that this is really what happened. In all reality this scene never happened. Soldier boy got attacked by his team and no fighters were killed invading the camp. I feel like moth man might still be alive since it was all bullshit

Even if Mindstorm was able to trick her about the events which I doubt they thought of, the twist is still garbage

The first season definitely played at coy about what really happened and it's perhaps because they didn't quite know yet how they wanted to go with it, since it is so much different than the comic, to my understanding.

However, when Becca actually has to interact and deal with Homelander in season two I feel like her visceral fear and repulsion is very real. I can't imagine she acts that way if she willingly had sex with him. I don't think you go into hiding if you don't know that Homelander is a sick piece of shit. Before the rape, she thought he was a good guy like most of the public, so the only real reason for her to think homelander is terrible is if she was actually raped.

Soldier boy at least questions shit, he didn't want to kill his son but knew it was probably for the better. Soldier boy tackling Homelander out the window and killing both would make sense but we all know none of the others could hold the show

Imagine if Ryan was not a part of it at all, Butcher is the one who laser beams the nerve agent instead of Maeve tossing it, Homelander kills Maeve and tries to fly Soldier Boy out of the atmosphere. SB goes nuclear above the tower and Starlight's flight moment is to catch Homelander as he's barely alive and powers weakened. Butcher thinks he's come out on top and gets some credit for trying to save Hughie in his own F'd up way. Finale still has Malory recovering SB, Edgar leverages V injections to keep Homelander powered up as he needs them regularly so his power level doesn't drop to B-lister until a permanent solution is found, and the VP replacement plan continues on.

Her going into hiding was orchestrated by Vought, which is why Homelander killed Stillwell.

I'd guess Ryan is supposed to be the new Homelander the way Homelander was supposed to replace Soldier Boy

you have to watch the extended cut to see the Forrest Gump deleted scene where

Soldier Boy secretly played golf with Hitler while using Jews as ball holders
Soldier Boy picked up a giant rock and threw it at Malcolm X saying GO BACK TO AFRICA this was where the saying we didn't land on Plymouth Rock, it landed on us came from
Soldier Boy spit on the first black girl who walked into integrated schools
Soldier Boy was out drinking and whoring with James Earl Ray the night before MLK was assassinated and told Ray that a bullet would fix all of MLKs dreams
Soldier Boy was actually a sniper on the hill during JFKs Dallas drive
Soldier Boy beat a tranny to death during the stonewall riots because the tranny tried to flirt with him
Soldier Boy was in the car that drove Emmett Till around

There was a brief throwaway dialogue of someone mentioned how SB was hosing down protestors in the 60s and something else but yeah it was bizarre how everyone kept SAYING Soldier Boy was the worst but we literally didn't see any of it, other than him randomly blacking out and blowing up when hearing Russian music. I figured they knew Jensen Ackles makes ladies wetter than Miami and didn't want female viewers to get turned off.

They did it with every episode of Peacemaker I think. That was fun.
