I had never heard the term 3-sigma athlete so I goggled it:

The name of this blog is 3 Sigma Athlete, which refers to the rare NFL player who stands three standard deviations above the NFL standard pSPARQ at a given position...3 sigma athletes don't show up very often [there are now five of them: Jones, Evan Mathis, J.J. Watt, Calvin Johnson, and Lane Johnson]. 3 standard deviations from the mean corresponds to the 99.87th percentile. It isn't 1 in 1000, but it isn't far off, either....Jones managed to land a whopping 3.2 standard deviations from the positional cornerback average.

Miami's WR corps is Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Greg Jennings, Kenny Stills, and Jordan Cameron at TE.

I have never been so stoked to finish 9-7 and maybe get a wildcard spot.

I was hoping Parker would go to Minnesota, but they obviously have some o-line issues that need to be resolved. I am glad he is going to the Dolphins, was my second choice. I am just glad the Browns didn't pick him up, that would've been bad.

God it's going to be so awesome watching Tannehill throw to these guys, assuming he doesn't get injured in the first game of the season because have no literally no guards.

still though, I love the pick.

I thought Jeff Ireland was going to fuck us again because he's with the Saints who picked at 13. He probably thinks he did screw us by picking a tackle though. Feels weird having a front office that looks competent.

Yeah, Parker was a good pick for the Phins. If they can avoid having Tannehill getting crushed 50 times they might look like a real professional offense. The division is pretty interesting though so hard to say how things can go. Could be 10-6 and be real playoff contenders or 5-11 and dogshit.

I think a few years down the road Bud Dupree will be the best LB of this draft and everyone will wonder how he fell so far. His 10 yard split (the only thing useful to gauge explosive edge rushers)from the combine at 6'4'' 270 was faster than Amari Coopers....the 42 inch vertical just cemented the freakish 4.56 time. Problem is he needs coached up in pass rush moves, the stuff he did in college wont work in the NFL that often, which is why I say a few years.

And btw, where are all the SEC guys here who said Jarvis Jones and his mind blowing 0.14 sacks/game thus far in his Steelers career would be the next coming of Greg Lloyd? This fucking dude cant even start over the fossil that is James Harrison who retired/unretired when nobody even wanted him or Jason Worilds who just retired to be a Jehovas Witness or some such shit at age 27.

Byron Jones is the 5th 3-Sigma Athlete in the league now.
Watched the pick then some of the post coverage then went to bed so I didn't get a chance to look into him until this morning. Man, what a good pick by the Cowboys. Freakishly athletic (he set a world record for the broad jump at the combine), intelligent (33 wonderlic), and he fits the type of person the Cowboys have targeted in the draft since Garrett took over (team captain, leader in the locker room). I think I'd be more excited about a pass rusher but they also needed CB help so this works.

Now they need to nail the next two picks. No more Tight Ends please...

It has to be RB and DL right?

So the Chargers traded away 2 picks to move up 2 spots and draft a RB. Pretty retarded. Hopefully this guy walks on water or something.

Problem with RB is that the Cowboys are in a bad position at 60. None beyond the first two were good enough to grab at 27 but the next few might not even make it to them in the second round. Assuming they stay put I think they'll grab BPA for D-line and gamble that one of the other RB prospects is still around in the 3rd.

Meh, wish the 49ers would have picked a CB. I know they needed help on the DL, but their CB's have been picked clean in free agency the last 2 years.
Not many CBs are worth a 1st round pick. Stud D-lineman are a lot harder to come by. I'll be surprised if they don't pick up a CB or two later in the draft.
