Misleading stat. Hell of a lot harder to average 4.7 YPC for 390+ carries than for a bit more on ~220. No one ahead of him had within 130 carries of him. Foster was .1 ahead of him with 132 fewer carries. Guys with any significant advantage on him in YPC are 235(Forsett) or fewer carries.

Not that I disagree with the second half of the post, just the logic of the first half.
Don't disagree with you, but I'd say one of those guys is far more likely to have a good season again this year than Murray who had over 400 touches total, and having to play behind a new (and not as good) O line.

Sooooo....congrats to the Miami Dolphins winning the 2015 Daniel Snyder award
I disagree. Suh is definitely one of those generational guys who can have an immediate and tangible impact on the team. This is far from being similar to the Haynesworth debacle as there's no question about his drive and will to play. And it's not like the Lions were willing to let him go. They fucked themselves out of being able to franchise him at a reasonable rate because of mishandling his contract with restructures. His franchise rate this year would have been something like $22m and a second franchise would have been north of $28m. I think overall Miami got better, not just from Suh but as the whole of their efforts so far, but like anything we won't really know until October or so.

IN GENERAL I think if your team is very active during free agency that probably means you're a really bad team and will continue to be a really bad team. For so many years I've had to hear how the Browns have won the offseason on local sports radio just thinking "You people are fucking retarded the NFL is about depth not a few high paid stars and allowing gaping holes elsewhere" but this offseason is a bit different. There is/was some actual talent in this FA. You could pay just a tad bit more than you should and get some really good talent. Usually you pay through the nose for B-level talent. This FA had some A talent commanding A money.

Risk with any team. The only person out there I'd trade for those two RBs would be revis but I don't think chip sees this as a 1 year solution. Which Is another reason he sent McCoy packing. He knows our odds of winning in the next 3 years are not good. So he made that deal to free up cap and get a young guy in return who will be in their prime by that time instead of having an old RB who cost a fuck ton to keep. Hopefully they get green Beckham in the draft to finish the offense then focus on D the next few years.

Worilds - Age 27 - Est. $13.5 million earned

Patrick Willis - Barely 30 - Est. $42.5 million earned

Jake Locker - Age 26 - Est. $12.5 million earned

3 guys that are quite young and have earned enough money to be comfortable for life all retiring from the NFL when they could absolutely keep playing and earning more. This could be a sign of things to come. Everyone knows that the NFL destroys you physically. If you are lucky/good enough to make it there and get one good contract it's not exactly insanity to just get the fuck out with your health relatively intact.

It sounds crazy to us average Joes. The money is just insane, how can you walk away from that? The answer for these guys appears to be with plenty of money already and no limp. And I wouldn't be surprised to see it more in the coming years.
I'm not even sure Willis doesn't have a limp already. He said in his farewell speech that he's always had trouble with his feet and they just can't do it anymore. He said that he knew he would end up drawing a salary to sit on the bench again just like he did last year and he was concerned about his health after retirement.

Is Indy really that excited they got two past their prime players? I don't think we have any Indy fans here to weigh in.

Trent Richardson released today as well. What a terrible trade that ended up being. I assume some team will probably give Trent another roster spot though.

Skins sign Culliver, definitely needed the help in the secondary. Of course we'll await him to do another stupid thing off the field, but hey whatevs.

Something I read today got me thinking about how Dallas' fan's perception have changed in recent years. About how Murray leaving and Dallas not bending over backwards to open the checkbook to keep him make it clear that Jerry is no longer making all the decisions. Even three years ago I could easily see him doing that, but here we stand today with a huge hole in our backfield because it wasn't financially prudent to match that contract. And it's not like most fans expected them to resign Murray (well, most reasonable fans), they knew Dallas wouldn't break the bank if he priced himself too high. Quite the change from recent years and it gives me the feeling that things are going to be okay.

It's like you don't recognize the window closing with romo... They should have signed him. Has dallas even done anything in FA. Edit rdmc lol

I think there is a gray area where you could argue that Murray is good enough to warrant a big $ contract (well, adjusted for RB's perceived value now), AND it being right for Dallas not to spend that much on him. As for Moon's post, well...JJ certainly had his way or doing things for a long time, seems like some of the decision making has been smarter of late. We'll have to wait and see because I think long term this might be smart, but your point of the window being open with Romo for only so long is a fair one.

I think DMC could do amazing things behind that line. He's a good player just mired in Oakland shit.

He's lost his burst. He looked really slow last year and Murray came in and ran all over the field at the end of the year. It wasn't the line.

At all? I mean, watching you Eagles and Cowboys fans go back and forth is entertaining...but lets throw some hard numbers out there. Do you think Murray tops 1,500 rushing yards next year? 1,900 combined? 400 touches?
