Ut will be on his deathbed, whispering his hatred for certain developers and how they ruined his life/happiness. I wouldn't shocked if had voodoo dolls of each of these guys and spent hours each day "punishing" them, his hatred/stalker tendencies are that creepy.

Although UT is aggressive in his stances he's actually been correct about a lot more things then most people on this board. Also had the balls to stick by his stances when most people would have agreed to disagree just because they didn't want everyone hating on them. I was one of many who thought he was bat shit insane but looking back on a lot of things he was simply correct on a lot of things all of us wished were false due to wanting a great MMO so bad.

I never said you were wrong. But you can be right in just a few post, instead of the almost zealous crusade of disdain and hatred you currently use. Your "Position" is solid for the most part, its the way you go about making sure every single person reads and sees your position over and over and over. Yep. I actually agree UT a lot more than he realizes. It's just he sometimes goes overboard.... way overboard heheh. But that is part of what makes him entertaining, so I try not to protest too much.

Seems like the most negative people attract the most professional people from the industry and then when they realize the amount of dogshit they've stepped in and make sure to never walk this way again, only the genuinely informative and well-informed (not to say the negative people aren't sometimes) & quietly positive people pay for the loss. It's bullshit. I've watched this (above and others) kind of shit go down for years. I mean years. Maybe close to 9 or 10. Now it's gotten to the point where I used to read the bullshit like this amongst developer posts and other genuinely well received posts and what not but now it's just become the same people absolutely decimating an entire forum's population with their mindlessly negative outlook on every game being developed.

The rabid attitude used to approach people WORKING on creating things that we take seriously enough to criticize down to the bare bones is nauseatingly tiresome. This post feels pointless, and probably is at this point, c'est la vie - I'll finish. Some of this is on par with stupid military and political propaganda. I've become inspired to start gathering information from what I can in the industry and bring it back to these boards as soon as I possibly can, which may or may not make the slightest fuck all of a difference but at least I'll feel better about it. How can the past 9-10 years not be mostly negative when talking about MMOs? We've had a stagnated genre for 10 years and devs have sucked money out of us spinning PR bullshit. Now I'm not sitting here saying there haven't been a few neat things a long the way or I haven't got my moneys worth. But when talking about a genre we love and watching everything else continually improve over the years whilst MMOs in some cases get WORSE how can you not be negative about it?

I'm not sitting here saying there haven't been reasons for the negativity or that we should all sugarcoat everything and give polite reviews of terrible shit.

I'm saying the way we (or the way others have been affected by the incessant actions of others) approach the people who *appreciate* our (a publicly accessible playerbase for God's sake - mostly the good reputation the board's name carries is a factor but the point stands) critique and thoughts on issues that we spend a lot of time and sometimes money thinking about is retarded. We actually have a decent shot at changing the stagnation and the things we hate in the industry *through* the discussion we can have with people who work with the industry. If we don't have a decent shot at changing it, well it's at least one way we could make it a possibility and whether you agree on that point or not, burning the bridge does nothing to help. It's important to remember that there's a foundational level of respect under attack, fuck, even downright missing at this point that is critical to allowing what makes this board special to carry on.

I don't know. It doesn't matter really. It's just retarded and I miss better information about things that weren't completely out in the open yet. But it was a privilege, so I can't cry about it - I'm glad I had it at all. Maybe that's why I'd like to restore a better line of communication.

We actually don't have a decent shot at all. We are the minority. The people that trends tend to follow are the majority that's how money is made. We aren't privy to such information any more because MMO's aren't a niche genre any more. Everything is controlled by PR which is expected as companies grow. I think yoiu are misplacing the blame as to why devs don't really come here any more. It's quiet clear indie devs and such are more willing to talk about their project compared to big budget game devs.

Who says "we are the minority". I have bought and played almost every single recent MMO and not one hasn't at least provided me the box price in entertainment and sometimes more. I enjoy games, I don't have a specific genre or style. I can enjoy a good sanbox as much as a I can enjoy a good themepark. To say no one comes here because "Everyone' here is no longer their target audience is asinine. I didn't realize you became our spokesman or that everyone here all fit into one little box.
