Another tasty outlet for fast food can be 'soul food' restaurants. Most that I've been too are cafeteria style, so the food is already cooked and ready.
If they've been in business for awhile, you can (usually) count on these things being excellent:
Fried chicken
Pork chops
Collard greens or other greens
Macaroni and Cheese - A word here. Soul food places don't fuck around, this is usually my first 'go to' item.

One of the "soul food" places near me is a hipster restaurant. Talk about disappointment. The food wasn't even good either, which is odd for a hipster place.
Now the one in the REAL ghetto... that's something else. I've yet to go but supposedly it's amazing. No hipsters there though.

If you go right across the bridge you go to Fall River, MA which is fairly dangerous. That's where we lived before. If you go a bit north you hit Brockton, MA which is one of the more dangerous cities in the country.

Holy crap. Went to Buffalo Wild Wings tonight for dinner. The jerk chicken sandwich I had was dreadful - over cooked chicken with so much sauce it made the bun wet, and the salad my wife had was lettuce, with a bit of chicken on top, and some cucumbers on the side.
The hockey showing on the television was the best part of the meal.

I just got home from a 'Mom and Pop' Chinese place. I figured I'd try to venture outside my comfort zone and give this place a shot, because I'd recently heard that it was amazing food.
The place smelled like moldy carpet and the food was worse than Panda Express. The service was atrocious. This is why it's just better to go to chains; at least you're generally guaranteed a certain level of service and cleanliness and you can count on the food being decent.

Szechuan chicken, but I tried a bit of everyone else's food, so some sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and sesame shrimp. I wouldn't be surprised if it was all just frozen and reheated shit that every other Chinese place uses. It's all bullshit.
I was so disappointed that I stopped by Walgreen's on the way home and bought a box of Runts, which I've just finished. Now I'm going to take a long nap.
