I'm going to provoke some people here, but I have to say this:

Taco Bell's shredded chicken burrito is perhaps their greatest burrito, maybe greatest value, and a top 5 TBell item.

If you guys have to block me I understand.

top taco bell item ever naked chicken chalupa - great value if you're paying attention to protein carb ratio also.

the month or two they have em I probably go through 50 or so

a few weeks ago i decided to have a cheat day and got a Double Cheesy Gordita Crunch. the regular Cheesy Gordita Crunch was my favorite item before i went keto, so i figured the Double would be amazing. it wasn't... maybe i just had a poorly made one, but it was super dry and tasteless.

I used to dislike seafood but then I had quality sushi and it's snowballed into full seafood fandom. Oysters, scallops, octopus, raw, pan seared, shrimp. Love it all. Oddly enough, fried is my least favorite way to eat seafood. I definitely judge people who go to sushi joints and get tempura.

That's because being a snob is your favorite activity.

Sushi snobs pretend it's all about the fish but 95% of the flavor and texture in sushi comes from the rice, the soy sauce, and the wasabi. People that eat sashimi and don't dip it in anything are doing it to show off how sophisticated they are.

Tuna is like the only fish I'll eat outside of say a Filet o Fish. That being said I love raw tuna in sushi. I mostly eat like a spicy tuna roll or something to that effect. The only time I will eat just straight sashimi is if I can get ahold of Toro (fatty tuna), that shit is delicious. Even then I still use a bit of wasabi and soy sauce though.

Fish/Seafood can be tricky as hell. My favorites are thick tuna steaks coated in sesame seeds and seared for a couple minutes each side, or some shrimp wrapped in bacon put under the broiler. I also saw a recipe for a breading that uses potato chips that I want to try. Also, the key to tempura is to keep the batter ice cold before dropping it in the oil

Seared tuna steaks are pretty great. I love seared salmon as well, with brown butter and capers and maybe some lemon pepper seasoning.

Apparently the Rattlesnake Fries and Rattlesnake Burrito launched today. Fries, steak, Jalapeno cream sauce, jalapenos, and nacho cheese.

I had those fries yesterday, actually. Pretty underwhelming. Just a bunch of soggy fries, weird steak chunks, and goopy (but delicious) cheese sauce. My butt still tingles from the jalapenos though because they've probably been sitting in oil for a year. Really hard to eat. Not quite fork food, but really rough going finger food. The burrito is probably pretty legit though.

The ground beef would be a lot better than the steak on that. Taco Bell steak is totally the wrong texture for a loaded fries dish.

I've never been a fan of loading a bunch of shit on fries, I always feel they become a soggy mess. I LOVE a good fry, so I would.prefer it separate. But that rattlesnake stuff makes me want to go for my 3rd trip to taco Bell in my life

Found the guy who orders tempura "sushi".

Sushi is all about the fish my man. Rolls are not sushi by the way.

loading shit on fries is a good way to enjoy eating em past 15mins, b/c after 15mins fries suck, but loaded fries you can eat for a good hour.

which ones? cheese fries at a baseball game. poutine fries at a bar, etc.

But yea, like you, i care more about the fry in fries.

?

Sushi is Maki (rolls) and Nigri (rice with a piece of fish on top). Sashimi (sliced raw fish) is not sushi, because there is no rice involved.

Well maybe I'm just a dumb American but Sushi is just what you called Nigri here. its just fish with rice, there is no seaweed or other ingredients. And they aren't rolls.

There is a clear distinction on menus around here.

It doesn't matter what is what. It's all mediocre weeb shit. Give me tempura fried shrimp packed with avocado, cream cheese, FUCKING ONION STRAWS, AND SLATHERED IN MAYO BASED SAUCE ANY FUCKING TIME. It's not sushi and it is sushi. And it's way better than fucking plain fish on rice. You can try and say otherwise, but it's a pretentious lie. Sushi isn't that great and fried things are always better than their un-fried versions. That's just fucking science.

Nigiri *

And Nigiri is bull shit. Trying to load me up on rice when all I really want is the piece of fish on top!

Then there are sushi rolls, where it's a funnel shape piece of seaweed, stuffed with rice and shit. Then the rolls like most people know, like spicy tuna roll, or cali roll.

I've never had a cone shaped seaweed roll stuffed with shit. Sounds delicious.

Sometimes sushi restaurants call them "hand rolls" or "Temaki." I don't really care for it, but I won't say no to it.

I used to hate sushi and even the idea of it, and then a friend of mine from high school took me to a sushi restaurant about a decade ago, and I ate it out of politeness. Got hooked, and held that restaurant up in my mind as a great sushi place. I've since went back. It's slightly above average and I've eaten a ton of great sushi at better prices since then. I've become a bit of a sushi snob, but thankfully not to the point where I'm judging people on what they like or how they eat their sushi. Also you absolutely can have tempura sushi, makizushi has been made for hundreds of years don't be a faggot. It didn't have cream cheese and the other glorious cultural additions we've had but it hasn't always been about the fish (and indeed the japanese were eating it with octopus and crab quite a bit).

The best taco bell item that comes back intermittently is the chili cheese burrito. It's not uncommon for me to go twice a day when they have those.
