American is superior to cheddar on anything where the cheese melts. Cheddar is garbage for melting. Ever make a quesadilla with cheddar? Oil fucking runs out of it.

American is really just mild cheddar with an emulsifier to keep it from separating when it melts which is what makes it good for burgers, grilled cheese, quesadillas, etc. Personally I'm not looking for a bunch of funky cheese flavor on my burger and if I do I'll have a blue cheese and bacon one.

Yea back in 00's i talked to the engineer supporting the singles line and he basically said american cheese no different than peanut butter, if you didn't have emulsifiers that stuff would separate.

Of course he also told me i shouldn't eat that shit either, at least from Kraft.

here, always look at the END of the product description

That means theres "other stuff" in there, basically filler, if you want good American Cheese, goto the deli

Don't start that hippy faggotry in here. This is the fast food thread. There's nothing toxic about Kraft singles. Morons see sodium citrate in the ingredients and go OMG it's POISONS.

Yeah American cheese on a burger or in a grilled cheese is where it's at. Cheddar gets all sweaty and melts terribly.

Muenster and Montery Jack are perfectly good melting cheeses. Far superior to American in flavor, which I still love on a burger.

Muenster is superior to american in almost every way. Better flavor, and it gets melty yet stringy at the same time. With american, as you eat it, it goos up at the end of everything you're eatting so the last bite is a nasty glob of american.

Was in a rush today and got Panda Express... Or I tried to. There were 5 inventors in front of me who proceeded to ask for a sample of every single entree one by one. I watched them do this for 20 minutes and only two of them had actually bought something by the time I just up and left.

I'd never seen anything like it.

Got a p'zone, will not get again. The thing was like 70% bread. The 30% that was actually stuffed was fine. If it was actually well made, maybe I'd be okay with it.

My Pizza Hut is the fucking worst though, so results may vary.

P'zones have always been this way, why I never understood the hype.

Id never seem anything like it.
I went to a legit mexican place Saturday night and a couple inventors spent like 20 minutes having the waiter go over every item on the menu.

Made me question humanity.

JUST ORDER SOMETHING

the dude supporting the line said don't eat it!

So do you think they tell their engineers deep dark secrets about how their products are toxic and just tell them to keep it to themselves? Or do you think that guy is just talking out of his ass like everybody else?

American cheese does have its place. I present to you Shady Glen in Manchester, CT, home of the Bernice Original. 4 slices of a "good" american, on one patty. Cooked on the griddle until crispy and then folded up. You can also order a side of just the crisped cheese.

They also make their own Ice cream on premises. The place is straight up locked in the 1950's.

I was sad when DQ dropped the Nerds blizzard. I used to get one from time to time when I was in high school.

Blizzards are pretty good but I've found (IM A SHILL) Sonic's blast basically on par. Sonic being 1 minute away and DQ being 30 minutes one way.

I love all cheeses, really. We're always trying new fancy, expensive-ass cheeses. However...I always prefer American on burgers. Muenster is way too mild for me, flavor-wise. American melts awesome and has a saltier taste. American on burgers is the American thing to do.

I prefer American on burgers for sure. I've done Cheddar and it was ok, but not the same. I've also tried various other cheeses like pepper jack and they're good but sort of 'one-off' burgers for me.

I definitely prefer American cheese from the deli over all other kinds of packaged american cheese.

That's a key point. Kraft Singles are hot garbage. GOOD American is a decent basic cheese.
