I still get emotional thinking about Jack's Stack burnt ends. I used to go to KC pretty often for work and that was always my first meal. If I was there alone it would be my second meal as well.

They're so good that even re-heated in a microwave from being frozen they're better than 99% of the rest of BBQ on Earth. So good. I always keep a couple packs in the freezer and some extra Jack Stack or Gates sauce in the fridge to add to them. I'll totally just sit down and eat a pound of burnt ends out of a bowl like cereal for a meal. Pure meaty bliss.

Question, in the states can you guys get Arnold Palmers at restaurants? I cant get enough of the Arizona ones but it seems rare in Canada, if I go out to eat and ask for an Arnold Palmer am I going to get looked at like im crazy?

Err, you know who Arnold Palmer is, right? American dude, American drink. Doesn't mean every place will have it, but it will be more recognized here than anywhere.

If it's any consolation, the shit is delicious even making your own with whatever random Iced Tea/Lemonade you buy. I live in Pennsylvania, home of the man and his drink, and only caught on to how tasty that shit was a year or two before Arizona made it a national thing.

What I've really learned since seeing the light is it's the best way to fix fucked up lemonade or iced tea. If you run out of powder or use to much there's no better way to balance shit out than mixing up some glasses using both. Lemonade too weak? More iced tea, and vice versa.

I know. I used to go to the old Smokestack on Prospect. Not the best neighborhood, but the pits were filthy, and smoked good product. Unfortunately, the rest of the place was filthy as well and it wasn't uncommon to see a cockroach or two. Best beans and burnt ends though. DAMN.

Anyway, I'm in KC in two weeks, and will have Costco marked as a designation. I'd also like to try Oklahoma Joes, but I hear the line for food is crazy long.

Even if a place doesn't know what an Arnold Palmer is, it's pretty easy to tell them how to make it.

I've been there too. We used to go there for lunch with the KC guys sometimes. Total dive but so tasty.
