Where are you at in Texas? I drive to texas a lot for work and would be a great forum m8 and bring you a poboy from Lafayette for $1,000 =D
LOL thanks. Just south of New Braunsfel. My sister travels for work and they opened a new office in this small town. She has flown in twice in the last month and both times brought me a po-boy.

McCheese post.

But really, I used to drown it when I was younger. Now I actually prefer the low sugar syrup that is more watery so that I can add a bit of flavor to the pancakes without going into a sugar coma
Why doesn't IHOP etc...not offer cane syrup as an alternative. I'm sure maple syrup is the biggest seller but down in cane country you think it would be an option. It's the reason I never eat there.

We collect something similar from trees as well, it's called turpentine.

I was always disappointed as a kid when Dennys/IHOP/Waffle House/Perkins never offered:

As a kid, we used that shit all the time at home on french toast, pancakes, etc. Guess it was a tradition from my dads side of the family, they were farmers and grew corn. I'm not sure I even knew you could have maple syrup at home until I was a teenager, I thought it was something that only restaurants served, we never had any.

Just had Dickey's BBQ for the first time. Got the 3 meat combo with baked beans and Mac and cheese as my sides. Wasn't too bad but at $16 I thought it was expensive for what you got. Had the pulled pork, beef brisket, and ham. Toss up between pork or beef for which was better.

Probably won't go back.

Speaking of BBQ. Ive driven by Famous Dave's many times and never ate there till yesterday. Had the spicy burger and it was great. Could taste the brisket that is mixed with the ground beef in it.

Famous Daves is honestly probably the best widespread(multi-state) BBQ chain. It's light years better than Rib Crib or Dickeys. Even with the insane amount of BBQ places in KC, I'd choose Famous Daves over half of them at least(although its not in the top 10 best BBQ places in KC), but it's definitely respectable.

I haven't been to Famous Dave's for about five years. I went fairly frequently before that, but when I had a whole bunch of services where it took 30 minutes to take my order, and then another 50 to bring the food to my table, I decided that shit wasn't worth it.

Seriously. More than an hour before food got to the table. About 5 times in a row. Screw that shit.

Thats especially ridiculous because everything you would order in a BBQ restaurant is already cooked. At worst all they have to do is chop the meat, sauce it, and put it on a plate/bun. Side orders like fries would be the only thing that would have to be cooked.

I've has a similar experience at Famous Daves except it was the first time my mom came to town to visit me. It took them half an hour to get us a water then another 20 minutes to take our order and then 45minutes to get our food. When my mother asked for a manager and asked why it took so long he asked us "Are you sure it was that long? Can you prove it?"

She had always wanted to go there because they didn't have them back home. It was the only time shes been to one and it was the last time I went to one. This was probably 3 years ago.

The Famous Daves here shut down about 8 months ago. Pretty sure it was bad management but there is also a heavy saturation of BBQ.

I just redeemed one of those little 5-sticker-cards at McD's for a free coffee and it confused the hell out of the entire cashier/front staff. They had to find the manager and ask him how to do it. Took like 3 - 4 minutes, but fuck it, I saved 99 cents! I guess not many people are actually redeeming those things. Just 3 more until I get another free coffee!

Someone told me recently that McD's bought out the original coffee bean that the old StarBucks used. This was around 4 years ago.

Just shows that the process of making coffee is just as important as the bean itself because McD's makes shit coffee.

McD's iced coffee is boss. I'd rather drink their coffee over Starbucks that is for sure though.

7-Eleven's around here now have Mountain Dew Tropical Blast. I'd never seen that one before. It apparently has tropical punch in it. I didn't try it. Sounded too sweet for me.

I think someone mentioned that their McD's dropped the buffalo ranch McChicken. They still have them in my area.

I drink somewhere between 12 and 15 hazelnut iced coffees from McD's a month. If they mix it right (70% chance) it's amazing. Especially for $2.17. If they mix it wrong its just cold coffee which I enjoy less, but still enjoy.

If your only choices for coffee, are Starbucks, and Mcd's. I feel sorry for you.
I have a Starbucks, McDonald's and a hipster coffee joint within walking distance of my work. McDonald's always wins because it's one dollar and a frugal bastard.
