Visiting my parents this week. God I miss the food.

Having a half dozen boudin balls I picked up at a gas station for lunch.

Shits great, it's really fast food here. I stopped at a gas station that sells them and also all kind of food like boudin (duh), sausage, po-boys, and all sorts of stuff which is the norm around here. Some of the best food comes from quick stop places.

You can order boudin off the internet from several places and I assume boudin too.

Gar balls are good to, made out of trash fish gar.
I hear the Asian Carp actually make decent fried food, you just have to basically grind everything up because their bones aren't easily separated from the filets. Supposedly good fish burgers. I'm sure balled, battered, and deep-fried they'd be pretty tasty too.

I'm sure Soylent Green is pretty tasty too as long as you grind everything up and add a shit ton of spices.

Walgreens here has had all the Lays flavors the past few years. Nothing this year.

King's Hawaiian at Firehouse was top notch. Will eat again! 1100 calories though. Totally worth it.

Yeah that's the only King's Hawaiian item they have on the menu right now. And the calories sound about right for it. For something served on a hamburger sized bun, the ones I've had were stout.

Yeah, it was enormous. They even gave me a fork and knife to go with it (lol I ate that shit with my hands like a savage, with pork juice and mayo running down my chin).

1100 calories? Damn, son. What is on it?!
Firehouse Subs - King Slaw | Hot Sandwich | Limited Time Only

It's got the roll, pepper jack cheese, pulled pork, coleslaw, mayo, mustard.

Anyway, I drank diet cherry limeaid so it's ok.

Smoked pulled pork, cole slaw, and pepper jack cheese, on a King's Hawaiian bun.

It's not a hard sandwich to make at home and get reasonably close to the Firehouse versionifyou can find a good, pre-cooked pulled pork near you. Their's doesn't have any sort of sauce on it (the pork). King's Hawaiian sells hamburger buns and they have a distinctive sweetness to them. And the cole slaw is coarse cut, not like that shit KFC serves. I just hit up the local deli for that. I also added some beer mustard to the sammy when I tried making it. It's a close enough stand in when it's not on Firehouse's menu and I've got a yearning for one.

I saw Boudin Balls on top chef i think (one of Emerils apprentices) and my wife said, let's (meaning me) do that for a baby shower she had to host. These boudin balls were intensive, had to get the right mixture of pork/beef/rice then triple dunk, egg wash/ flour/ egg wash/ breading.

30 women couldn't resist my boudin balls! but i'll most likely never make em again.

Some folks were talking salted caramel recently. Just had this today, great snack.

The caramel is real light, perfect mix of sweet and salty.
