Tried the Arby's Roast Beef and Bacon finally - I MOSTLY approve, think it would've been better if the bacon was a bit less crispy and with how sweet the bacon was I did have to take a break from finishing it a couple to let the sweet overload dimish a bit.

But it was good, definitely something I'd get again.

I can't imagine needing to take a break because something is too sweet, let alone that bacon, which is sweet but certainly not as sweet as any candies/desserts. You might be one of those faggot supertasters. Next to trannies, this community seems to attract a lot of super tasters.

Goddamnit mccheese if you're going to trigger my supertasting ability and persecute me at least get the facts straight. Supertasters dislike the following, to varying degrees:

Certain alcoholic beverages[15] (gins, tequilas, and hoppy beers)
Brassica oleracea cultivars (become very sulfurous, especially if overcooked)
Brussels sprouts[18][19][20]
Cabbage[18]
Kale[20]
Coffee[18]
Grapefruit juice[19]
Green tea[19]
Soy products[19]
Carbonated water[21]
Mushrooms
Anise and licorice
Lower-sodium foods[22]
Other foods may also show altered patterns of preference and consumption, but only indirect evidence exists:

Tonic water - Quinine is more bitter to supertasters[citation needed]
Olives - for a given concentration, salt is more intense in supertasters[citation needed]
You'll see from my posting history that I am against most of those food items.

That said Vaclav sounds like a pussy.

Noodle, what is your stance on broccoli cheese soup? Since broccoli is a brassica oleracea cultivar.

I actually enjoy broccoli, but that is because I used to be serious into bodybuilding and ate chicken, broccoli, and rice like 12-15x a week. Broccoli cheese soup is good.

Seriously. I eat eggs, chicken, broccoli, oats, and rice every fucking day.

I hate every single one of the above listed fucking items.

Quick report on this year's Lays flavors:

Southern Biscuits and Gravy - My wife and I like them. The chips taste like the spiced gravy and it we both thought it really worked.
Greektown Gyro - flavor was did seem like a mixture of lamb and tzatziki but we both liked the Biscuits and Gravy chips way better. The only redeeming quality of these is that they are kettle cooked and you almost want to keep eating them over regular chips because of the texture and crunch.

Based on that list I might be a supertaster actually - list has three items I like - two I'm neutral towards and the rest is hates.

And as for me "being a pussy" - I'm just not a big fan of too much sweet (seriously, besides beverages - I'll have maybe a muffin a week that's sweet - other sweet stuff is infrequent - mother baked almost daily as a kid, just got bored with sweet as a result I guess), it wasn't a long break I needed or anything - went and finished my fries and came back - but it was getting REALLY cloyingly sweet - maybe my Arby's screwed it up some. They obviously were doing diminished business since they're in drive-thru only mode while they remodel so maybe that bacon was cooking for longer than normal and was extra intense.

Seriously, the sugar level on the bacon was literally on a hard candy level on the outside "shell" to the bacon. Even my wife that looooooves sweets had to take a pause to let the sweetness calm down a sec.

On Lays - Agree on the biscuits, also tried the truffle fries ones - which I still can't determine if I like or not, they're intriguing as hell pallet-wise but not sure if I like them or just think they're interesting.

I haven't managed to find any of the new Lays flavors in my area yet. I've noticed the last couple years that my standard grocery store doesn't carry them at all, so I generally have to specifically go hunt for them.

I'm really excited because I'm heading to Firehouse subs tonight; going to try the King's Hawaiian BBQ sandwich!

Do you know what store has always reliably had all of the Lay's flavors in ample supply? WalMart. Missed at large chains like HEB and Krogers and thought that they may not be out yet; but what do I see when I walk into WalMart? A giant center isle display with tons of all four flavors. My wife and I think that the other chains are more focused on selling their own brands of "fancy" chips so they don't stock the interesting Lays flavors because it will hurt their more profitable lines.

It was at Publix down here that I found them (for McCheese, Wegman's would be the closest equivalent).

Certain alcoholic beverages[15] (gins, tequilas, and hoppy beers) HATE
Brassica oleracea cultivars (become very sulfurous, especially if overcooked) Fine raw and steamed. Boiling broccoli makes me puke from the smell.
Brussels sprouts[18][19][20] HATE
Cabbage[18] NOT A FAN
Kale[20] HATE
Coffee[18] LOVE
Grapefruit juice[19] HATE
Green tea[19] NEUTRAL
Soy products[19] DISLIKE
Carbonated water[21] HATE
Mushrooms DISLIKE
Anise and licorice HATE
Lower-sodium foods[22] NO FUCKING CLUE
Other foods may also show altered patterns of preference and consumption, but only indirect evidence exists:

Tonic water - Quinine is more bitter to supertasters[citation needed] HATE
Olives - for a given concentration, salt is more intense in supertasters[citation needed] BLACKS OKAY, NO THANKS GREENS

I hope I'm a Super Taster, because otherwise my food preference is roughly the same as a black bears or tiger sharks. I eat like everything. I'm shocked cilantro wasn't listed for tasting like soap. I really hope I am a ST as I fucking love 90% of all fast food I eat. Maybe I'm the Super Taster Day Walker.

To do it Xevy style:
Certain alcoholic beverages[15] (gins, tequilas, and hoppy beers) LIKE gin - abhor the rest.
Brassica oleracea cultivars (become very sulfurous, especially if overcooked) HATE
Brussels sprouts[18][19][20] HATE
Cabbage[18] HATE ALONE, OK in some situations.
Kale[20] HATE
Coffee[18] HATE (barring dolling it up so much it's basically not coffee)
Grapefruit juice[19] LOVE
Green tea[19] NEUTRAL
Soy products[19] NEUTRAL
Carbonated water[21] DISLIKE (usually tastes slightly funny to me - unflavored is awful, some flavored mitigate it)
Mushrooms HATE (actually makes me nauseous in full form - cream of mushroom is fine though and I love to cook with though)
Anise and licorice HATE
Lower-sodium foods[22] DISLIKE (I really prefer salty foods, constant salt-cravings etc - genetic predisiposition with my genetic oddity though so unfair to consider as a ST thing)
Tonic water - Quinine is more bitter to supertasters[citation needed] HATE
Olives - for a given concentration, salt is more intense in supertasters[citation needed] HATE

Most of the other grocers aren't willing to budge on the price to stock those new flavors and Lays just passes. They eventually come down and then you will see them. Walmart has such a huge distribution nationally that Lays is willing to pay the price Wal-mart demands.

That bacon has way to much fucking sugar on it. It's sad. I had the BLT which is all bacon so I imagine that the one with roast beef on it would be better than the BLT but I didn't finish it which I would not have believed was possible for me with a BLT. My dog ate the last third of it and I wished that I had given him more. I would not have guessed that it was even possible to ruin bacon but Arby's has done it.

The ones with the ham and roast beef are better than the blt. That bacon is almost like crunchy because of sugar and not because it's bacon.

Yea, I was saying that to the wife as we were having it - "Wow, with how strong this is, I can't imagine trying the BLT where it's all bacon" - it's manageable although a bit sweet as a garnish as it was, but as a BLT it seems insane.
