Meijer brand freezer pops are the best

(Meijer is a midwest chain superstore)

best thing about freezerpops is that they're usually only like 20 calories a piece. eat 8 of those suckers and you're no worse off calorie-wise than if you drank a can of soda.

Yep, my family was poor when I was a little kid. Freezer pops, or homemade popsicles made from cool-aid. Occasionally as a treat, we'd have these goddamned things, whatever they were:

I think the little jugs of colored flavored water were like 10 cents apiece or something at the supermarket, back in the early 80s.

Yeah those jugs are still cheap as shit to buy, you can still find them.

Yesterday I spent like 8 hours cutting a fallen tree in my yard. You better goddamn believe I sucked down 6 freeze pops when I came inside after stripping naked.

My wife thought it was "weird"

opening up several freezer pops, putting them in a blender, and drinking them with a straw is also pretty great

Every time one of my friends or family says freeze pop or freezie I immediately correct them by saying Otter Pop. I'm sure it is infuriating, but they must be corrected.

I used to try and warm the Otter Pops up with my hands, so there would be a bunch of "juice" after I finished the ice part. Stroking Otter Pops.

Oddly enough I eat one raw out of the freezer and I put the second one between my legs so it warms it up a bit. I have a different delicious freeze pop dick everyday

My favorite consumption method is to suck the juice out until it is just a shriveled white ice shell inside and toss it. Chewing is too much effort.

Also, those barrel things were what all the poor white trash and ghetto kids would bring for lunch in elementary school. My family had Kool Bursts, classy as fuck and flexing our middle class muscle.

I didn't do the jugs - but the rest weren't a "poor kid" thing man, they were just a kid thing in general - my parents loved to have them around even though we didn't use them that often for entertaining my friends and such at short notice since they never went bad. I swear when I helped them clear out the house before they handed it over to me there were still some there from 15 yrs earlier. [And they were still fine!]

I remember those little barrel drink things. Used to get them at piggly wiggly when those were still around.

Going to Iowa for a few days, was going to hit Zombie Burger on my flight out unless there is some other place I should try near DSM airport. Any other must haves in the area?
I don't know about must haves but they have a decent burger place in DSM. Also Templeton whiskey is made near Des Moines.

The correct way to eat Otter Pops is to break them up so they are in little chunks before opening the package.
