Subway's bacon makes me sad. I used to go to Togo's back in San Francisco, shit was amazing. Then I got stationed over here in Virginia and there really isn't all that much here in the way of sandwich places. Potbelly's seems to be making inroads, which is awesome, and there are a couple of local places that are good.

On a side note, theres A Freddy's opening up near my house next month, can't wait. They basically taste like Steak & Shake burgers but with better fries and more ice cream choices. Just what I needed half a mile from my house...

Freddys Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
hrm, they have one of these in Fairfax. I may have to head up there one day, looks fucking badass.

Funny you mention that.. if I end up getting Subway for my father-in-law and brother-in-law the only sandwich they eat from Subway is a Bacon sub with extra bacon. I honestly thought they wouldn't make it, but they do.

Edit: And it's just bacon, that's it.

If you fly through Denver or are near a location Heidi's Brooklyn Deli makes a killer Cajun Crab cake sandwich.

Get the cheddar bacon McChicken from McDonald's. It's probably their fanciest tasting sandwich and it's $2. I practically have a McDouble tattoo'd on my asscheeks and I think I'm favoring the CBM.

McChicken in the US is so much better than in Canada. $1 for a buffalo McChicken, god damn. The hotel I stayed at in Vegas always made them fresh and it took 10 minutes to get your order but they were so good for a buck.

A friend and I were blown away that people were ordering anything else from there. I guess Americans just don't know how much of a good thing they have and neglect the glory that is $1 McChicken. It actually became our denominations for currency. We referred to the cost of things in McChickens, rather than dollars.

I had one of those $1 Buffalo Ranch McChicken sandwiches last week, and it was pretty good for buck. Yep.

The McChickens near me suck ass. Flavorless chicken patty with stale bread most of the time, no thanks. Their Southern Style Chicken Biscuit is great though. Chicken breast on a biscuit for like $1.80 during breakfast time only, wish it was all day.

Does Quik Trip count as fast food? Because around here they have a pretty decent chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich that is less than $2

I don't think a place called "Quik Trip" could ever be disqualified as fast food.

The fast part is not in question. The food part might be.
That and the fact that it's hard to consider a lot of places like that as a restaurant even.

AFAIK Quik Trip doesn't even cook a lot of that stuff there and it's just shipped in warm. Some places I consider to be below Subway quality, and I have a hard time accepting that what Subway serves is even food.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around Casey's pizza. I don't drive close to one on a normal day AFAIK and I'm reluctant to drive out of my way to try gas station pizza (as good as it may be).

No point ever going to Subway when WaWa is around. Also, their stuffed pretzels are a dream come true. My friends rave about their breakfast but haven't had a chance to go for that yet.

I don't understand it at all and I was VERY hesitant to even try it, but I did at the insistence of several friends. It's good. I'ts probably better than any nationwide chain pizza, better than Pizza Hut/Papa Johns/Dominos etc. Now, it's not as good as your best local mom&pop pizza joints obviously, but it's surprisingly good for gas station pizza.
