1) Because there aren't always better options for fast subs available. Subway is the only sub shop close enough I can get to on my lunch break and get back to work in time.
2) I have gone over this before, but from a calorie-to-satisfaction standpoint, Subway is hard to beat. My foot long ham with 10 veggies fills me-yes, even ME-up really well, while only being under 600 calories. I have had similar subs from other chains, and while they are delicious, they are way higher in calories
3) Subway is one of the most inexpensive sandwich shops. My ham and veggie loaded foot long is dirt cheap compared to a comparable amountof food at Firehouse or another sub shop.
4) Subway isnt really that bad. They are franchised also, so you cant judge all based on experiences at one. Personally I think Subway subs taste great. People who hate on Subway are sub elitists, go talk about gourmet sandwich making in the cooking thread.

I find if you're getting a cold cut sub or perhaps one of the hot chicken subs Subway is alright, when you start stepping into steak and cheese they really just fall flat. Their steak tastes weird.

I like subway because we can send someone from the office or shop if we are on a 30 minute deadline and order a metball sub and it's a meatball sub. If we order something else no telling what I will actually get.
Most of the subways here and most places I have lived aren't stand along places you actually go in and eat or whatever. Most of them are tied into a gas station. Quick stop, get some food, and go on your way type of stuff.

Theres a Mexican chain(chipotle knockoff) around here called Costa Vida, and I once went there to get carry-out dinner for me, my wife, and my kid. They're notoriously slow, but very good, so I generally order what I want, tell them what I want on it, and then go pay while waiting on them to make the burritos. So I do that (order 2 burritos + a kids soft taco), pay, I'm standing there waiting and the kid gets the first burrito made and then says to me "oh, we're out of tortillas"
WTF?
I ask him how they are out of tortillas, in a burrito shop, and he says they can make more but they make them homemade on site from dough and it would take 30-40 minutes to make more. They then asked me if I wanted to wait. Fuck no. I told them I wanted a refund. I figured they might at least let me keep the one they made, and refund my money for the inconvenience of not informing me before I made my order that they only had 1 goddamn tortilla left(and this was early, like 6pm, they were open for 3 more hours so it's not like it was right before close). They didn't let me take the completed burrito after I got my refund, I assume they trashed it or whatever.
Used to eat there about once a month, this was about a year ago now and I've never been back. Worthless cunts.

The thing that pissed me off is that Chik Fil A is closed here on Sundays like everywhere else. The fucking Cane's righ across the street is closed on Sundays too. WTF. That seems like that would be your day "Oh shit they're closed, I forgot. Might as well still get chicken".
