My issue with Yelp is more they accept money to promote good reviews and bury bad reviews. So you don't really know if something is highly rated because they're paying for Yelp Premium or if it is actually good through genuine means.
scroll down to the end of the reviews page you'll see something like this
9 other reviews that are not currently recommended
which the yelp bot has deemed bad

All this hipster talk is causing me to have an existential crisis

Are boardgame cafes hipster? Oh god..

What am I?

What is the point?
Anything is hipster if the majority of people involved are hipsters. But is it contagious?

Can one enjoy novelty bars, thrift store themed clothing, or obscure "stuff" individually without going full douche-bag?

You're also a programming hipster using your low level language. You're using the vinyl records of programming languages.

Vinyl records? Sometimes I have to code in assembly, that's like those people trying to playback sounds "recorded" on old pottery

I guess food truck depends on where you live. The only time I used one was on site in New Orleans building the new hospital. They had a truck come by weekly and I would eat. It was nothing more than a truck pulling a utility trailer with a couple of big cast iron pots and burners making jambalaya. It was convenient. Never seen one like on TV, but I've never really looked either.

The term "hipster" means almost nothing anymore. It's really a generic term for a young non-bro. Sense of style? Hipster! Foodie? Hipster! Likes craft beer? Hipster!
While I agree that we use hipster as a prefix around here, the real "hipster" is a pretty defined term in my mind. I am a foodie and I love craft beer, but I would never consider those things to be hipster. Hipster is having a beard and your entire personality is based around your beard. Hipster is riding around your neighborhood on a wooden bike that cost you $5000. Playing your vinyl records at the local coffee shop that has those coffee beans that cats shit out. Just Google image search the word hipster. It's not just a sense of style. It's a very specific look.

Now I'm thinking we should open a shop and have all kinds of animals shitting out coffee beans!

I use the term hipster pretty much all the time, but in my mind I have a perfect image of a hipster:

  1. Shaved sides of head, slicked back hair
  2. Full long beard or handlebar mustache - beard oil necessary
  3. Skintight jeans or ironic slacks
  4. Pointy elf shoes or chukkas
  5. Craft beer (or now bowl of cereal) in one hand
  6. Juiced grass in the other hand
  7. Listens to Arcade Fire or Bon Iver

If that's you then you are a hipster

Ok, Fast Food...

Why doesn't American McDonald's look this nice. This is Poland, according to Reddit.
