Not eating out per say, but was kinda impressed with a couple recent items. One was king supers near the deli meat has some pre flavored meats. Most were bullshit, all overpriced. But I saw the Korean Kalbi beef on markdown. For $4 was quite a happy breakfast. Basically salisbury steak in a rich sauce.
For those that ever have assorted bars for work/snack, the new Cliff bar Chocolate Almond Fudge (or brownie?) (sounds like 5 similar flavors but this was labeled new) Was pretty amazing, I have a hard on for mazipan and while not the same closest I think I'll come. And I'm a sucker for any super dark/rich fudge/brownie type concoction. Like unfinished hot brownies from oven with spoon is a fav 1/year splurge.
On the almond front someone else here or maybe it was some costco thread mentioned Almond cake at costco. Think I found it, it's the refrigerated big cake and not a smaller bakery/boxed item? @ 16$ I was hesitant to try without more intel. Is there mazripan in it? Is it just typical cake with just the almonds on top or what makes it a fricking $16 cake. (I was resistant to the apple lattice they had that looked incredible but was $10. As a cheap bastard Kings Private selection pies out of the managers special and eaten solo in 1-3 days is where it's at.)
