I love those too but still think voodoo takes the cake for me.
Dammit more reminders of things that are missing after my move. You'd think being so close to Louisiana they'd have Zapp's around here... motherfucker... =/

Not sure where you are at but I saw them in Texas all over the place.

Tried that screaming Sicilian brand of frozen pizza since it looked so good. Low cheese content, high sauce, meatball topping was very soft which was strange. 2/10 would not eat again.

Still can't top the digornios buffalo chicken stuffed crust as far as frozen pizzas go.

yeah i had high hopes for Screamin' Sicilian too. got the "Bessie's Revenge" one with tons of extra cheese. the cheese was alright but everything else was seriously sub par. crust went from too soft to burnt in about a 45 second window.

for Digiorno, i love all the flavors, but if i had to pick a best it would be one of the stuffed crust varieties. the quality of Digiorno's stuffed crust is... god tier. first time i've ever said that phrase in this thread. but it really is. have never had stuffed crust from a pizza place that actually topped Digiorno's stuffed crust. going out for pizza is still superior in just about every other way, but man, dat Digiorno stuffed crust. so fucking good.

What is the flavor like? Is it just straight heat like peppers or is it like a cajun?
I believe the voodoo has more of a sweet taste to it. It's sort of hard to describe because there's no other chip that I can really compare it to. Really though, all of the zapps are very good. They can make a shit sandwich into something worth while.

edit - I actually went look the voodoo up and it said an employee was moving a pallet of spices off the top shelf and dropped it. while cleaning up, someone stuck their finger into the mixture of about 5 flavors and pronounced it great. God knows whether that's actually true or not, but it explains why the flavor is so hard to explain.

I can buy the Zapp's in St. Louis; first time I had them was at a little chicken/fish place - King Edward's Chicken and Fish (yum/cheap - one of G's favorite "fuck the diet" places)...but for lack of interest in driving to buy them, I am considering having a case shipped to me.

Urge to consume massive quantities of zapp's and pineapple big shot is rising due to this thread.

That's not all that close but I would think you could find them out there.
Heh, FL itself as a region is though - I believe my major grocery is HQ'ed in Tallahassee which is on armpit of the panhandle. Used to regional stuff like that still getting spread out. Hell, we're far closer than DC/Baltimore where I used to get them!

Yeah not much heat. I would say they are similar to jalape?o chips with a bit of smokey sweetness and a touch of cvinegar. Very Cajun and unique.

My favorite Digiorno is the garlic crust.

Had the quesalupa today. It was alright. Not sure if $4 good, though. The steak quasadilla is still my jam.

$4? ew. is only $2.99 for the beef one at my taco bell.

but the chicken one is $0.50 more, and it is best enjoyed with added bacon and a spicy ranch side to dip it in, tho, so the price ends up around $4 for me...

The steak version is 3.99. I felt if I was going to try it out may as well get the Cadillac of the quesalupas.

ah yeah i wasn't thinking.

i haven't tried steak in the quesalupa, but i bet the chicken is a better fit for it. need a lighter meat for that deep fried shell.

steak definitely wins quesadillas tho, we are in agreement there.

that's a bummer.

i live in the middle of nowhere, but usually taco bell prices are pretty universal.

FWIW the median household income here is a mere $30k, so that $4 quesalupa is still probably more expensive to us than your $5 quesalupa.

just guessing, tho, i really have no idea where you live...

Yeah the cheese was OK, but hamburger was mushy which to me felt gross. Also it partially burned on the outer crust so you're right about the timing. You also have to cook it at a higher temp than any other frozen pizza

Yeah I got the supreme Sicilian and it was not nearly as good as regular Supreme.
