Why even use Deep Dish as an adjective? How about "Pizza Restaurant" since all pizza is the same anyways? Why call it Taste of Chicago then? Should have just called it Deep Dish Pizza Restaurant.
I guess it's really a question of how people are defining "the coast". In Atlanta which is a 3 hour drive from the ocean, you are probably right, it's not so different than living in the midwest. Consequently, I think most of the seafood here sucks. If you go to any number of places at the beach or a harbor town, there is no question you are getting fresher fish, the taste is discernible.Re: seafood
99% of the seafood that you eat on "the coast" is no more or less fresh than what we eat in the middle of the country. Anything that is commercially caught is at least a day or two old, and in fact that's actually a good thing.

So really, about the only truly "fresh" fish you'll get anywhere in the country is going to be some individual(not commercial) fisherman selling his catch that same day. Maybe a little fish market, or roadside stand. You see a lot of those on the gulf coast, some guy selling crawfish or shrimp out of a cooler in the back of this truck. That's about the only way you'll ever get truly "fresh" seafood, short of catching it yourself, anywhere. You're not getting it in any restaurant, that's for sure. Any decent restaurant, whether its on the coast or not is going to need such a large volume of seafood that it is going to come from commercial sources, not some random dude with a fishing pole on his personal boat.
Like I've said a hundred times, this is like the 4th Sonic in MA, and the only one in the SE area - the nearest one is probably 45-50 miles away. It's BIG. Like... they had a private party the other day to celebrate the opening with cops out front blocking the entrance and traffic was backed up for miles because people thought it was open. It's a big deal, it's also about 2 streets over from my house and I can walk there in 3 minutes.Really gettiung excited for a place that makes 75% of their money from drinks, has to be. They have a happy hour or whatever they call it from 2-4 and drinks are discounted. That's the only time I see it somewhat busy.
Don't work yourself up too much. It's basically DQ with some better menu options.Like I've said a hundred times, this is like the 4th Sonic in MA, and the only one in the SE area - the nearest one is probably 45-50 miles away. The other issue is my town only has a burger king and a d'angelos for fast food. That's it. Not even a McDonalds or Wendys.
