Went to Nashville a few weeks back to pig out on some good eats. Definitely some of the best food I've ever had in my life!

First picture is fromhttp://biscuitlove.com/- Bonuts (fried biscuit dough with a blueberry compote), John's Ham Bar (4 regional hams, aged from 13-24 months, with beaten biscuits, hot honey and pimento cheese), and the East Nasty (biscuit, fried chicken thigh, and sausage gravy). I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and I'm convinced that this just can't be beat.

Second picture is fromHattie B's Hot Chicken - Nashville, TN Hot Chicken Restaurant- Nashville's very own hot fried chicken, served with bread and pickles and a side of collard greens and potato salad. The best, juiciest, most flavorful chicken I've ever had in my life. Worth the trip alone!

Re: seafood

99% of the seafood that you eat on "the coast" is no more or less fresh than what we eat in the middle of the country. Anything that is commercially caught is at least a day or two old, and in fact that's actually a good thing.

What Do You Mean That The Fish Is Fresh? Food Republic

1. Quite simply, you would not want to eat most fish caught that same day.
Commercial boats do not immediately gut and bleed their catch, so the fish goes into rigor mortis - or a state of muscle stiffness so extreme that it makes the flesh of it (or any animal) too chewy to be enjoyable. The fish eventually relaxes. (The time is partially determined by how the fisherman handles and cools the fish.) With a few exceptions like the Japanese method of ike jime (bleeding and destroying the spinal column with a spike, preventing the transmission of the neurons to the muscles to stiffen), the fish will need 12-24 hours to reach a state where the filet can be consumed enjoyably. The chances of you ever seeing a commercially caught fish within 24 hours is slim anyhow. So erase the idea that "fresh" means caught that day.
So really, about the only truly "fresh" fish you'll get anywhere in the country is going to be some individual(not commercial) fisherman selling his catch that same day. Maybe a little fish market, or roadside stand. You see a lot of those on the gulf coast, some guy selling crawfish or shrimp out of a cooler in the back of this truck. That's about the only way you'll ever get truly "fresh" seafood, short of catching it yourself, anywhere. You're not getting it in any restaurant, that's for sure. Any decent restaurant, whether its on the coast or not is going to need such a large volume of seafood that it is going to come from commercial sources, not some random dude with a fishing pole on his personal boat.

Deep Dish pizzas made in Texas, this thread has really gone to the Toiler.

Paging McCheese to educate you failures.
McCheese thinks all pizza is the same. He's the last person people should be asking about pizza.

So by the sound of it, he didn't vandalize the place or destroy private property, he just stole a few burgers and bottled water. Who would be stupid enough to give a fuck?

So you won't mind if I come to your house while you're at work and cook me up some food in your kitchen right? Just make sure I bring my own food to cook it.

Hell of an alarm system they have going there. Guy breaks in and has time to let the stove heat up and cook a burger without anyone responding.

He didn't break in, he slipped in while a delivery driver was dropping stuff off. Door is unlocked, driver is in the back, dude probably ducked in a booth and waited for the driver to leave.

Big difference between a private residence and a business. Seems like the dude was just hungry, he didn't hold the driver up, he didn't vandalize the place, he didn't destroy any property (since the door was unlocked), at least that is my understanding, I may be wrong about that, but from what that link says it sounds like just that and I would think cops would have something better to do than try and track down the guy who stole a couple of burgers and bottles of water.

Now that is what hot chicken should look like. Not whatever KFC is passing off. Dammit, now I want some.

How dare you say that while we're mourning McCheese... what an insult to his legacy...

Practice fasting so that you may enjoy the full bounty of Murrica. It is the McCheese way.If every day were McCheese day, we would not appreciate the wonder of our great nation.
