I drove to LA this past weekend and stopped for In-N-Out on the way. Goddamn, that's the best fast food burger. But their fries are terrible. What gives? It's very disappointing.

I thought their french fries were supposed to be ordered animal style or some shit. Fucking people in California always go on about that stupid place. I'm happier with Chick-fil-a tbh.

The good thing about In-N-Out fries is that they were potatoes when they were shipped to the restaurant. There's basically nothing "special" about them at all, they're just the most simple and to the point fries physically possible.

Yeah I was very disappointed by the fries when I had In n Out for the first time a couple years ago. I ordered them extra crispy but that didn't really help. I also didn't order them animal style because we always got it to go and I didn't think that would transport well.

Went to Stop & Shop on a cheat day mini mission Sunday. Didn't know what I wanted just felt like eating unhealthy and aimlessly wandered into the frozen pizza section. Saw they were carrying California Kitchen frozen pizzas which were new-ish for this particular store and went for the spinach white pie but then noticed a brand new Stop & Shop brand frozen pizza that looked exactly the same. Thinking this was no coincidence and it's probably the same exact pizza I went for the Stop & Shop brand. I'm such a smart shopper.

Anyway I get home and throw that puppy in the oven ready to bask in cheat day glory when I look at the nutrition facts. The entire fucking pizza was only 690 calories. How is that even possible? This pizza had a garlic cream sauce, 4 different kinds of cheeses and spinach (well I guess the spinach is negligible). The dough alone should have been close to 500 calories. It's gotta be a lie.

Yeah, the Cali Kitchen one is almost 1,000 calories. Stop and Shop uses sawdust instead of flour.

I love me some frozen CPK pizzas. I routinely eat the BBQ chicken one for dinner on weekends. The whole thing is only about 900 calories. I don't know what the Stop & Shop pizza looks like, but if it's anything like the CPK pizzas then it's cracker-thin and that's why the calories are so low, most likely. The bulk of calories from pizza always comes from the crust, so when you have super duper thin crust it's going to be way less.

That's strange. I order my fries there well done all the time and it makes them way better. They're still not very good, but at least decent. But for like $5 for a whole meal, who cares?

I'm pretty sure the same company that makes the CPK pizzas make the Stop & Shop pizzas. They look exactly the same and the S&S was pretty decent too, albeit smaller.

Take this to the frozen food thread!

I kid, I don't give a fuck. 690 calories for an entire pizza seems really low, but it was a spinach pizza (really, for a CHEAT?). My biggest problem with frozen pizzas and any processed food is the sodium content.

My cheat day pizza would have no less than 13 toppings, all meat.
Is that even possible? I think the most meat I've ever had on a pizza was 6, and that's counting chicken as meat.

Pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, ham, Italian sausage, chicken

Anyway, if you try to order more than 6 or 7 toppings on a pizza most places (at least in my experience) will heavily discourage it because the pizza simply won't cook right. I've had Pizza Hut outright refuse to let me order 12 toppings once, in fact.

*Edit* I've done 12 toppings at home once: pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, ham, sausage, chicken, onions, peppers, olives, mushrooms, garlic, pickles, (+ cheese and sauce, obviously) and the pizza turned out terribly. I don't mean in terms of taste, but it was so fucking heavy that the crust just folded (and I purposely made the crust extra thick) and some of the toppings didn't get cooked all the way. However, if I had kept it in the oven longer the crust and some other toppings would have begun burning.

Keep your pizzas simple, bros.

My wife used to be a manager at a pizza hut, she told me the same thing that you've said. She said they'll do it if you keep asking, but they strongly suggest against it. Also the more toppings you order, the less of each you get.

Yeah, when I make pizza at home I try to keep it simple. Too much and it's like a soggy mess. A tasty, soggy mess.
