Lard is delicious...great for frying chicken and making flaky pie crusts. Leaf lard is the best.
Fuck, I am hungry.

And just try making a good biscuit without it.

Many years ago there was an Indian immigrant that I worked with who was new to States and he went with us to grab some breakfast at a little mom and pop place down the street and got his first taste of a true, southern biscuit made by a bunch of grandmas who did all of the cooking there. The guy was Hindu so he took a pass on the pork and went with a cheese biscuit. He was blown away by how good it was and then someone back at work said "you know biscuits are made with lard right?".

"What is lard?"

The poor guy. I think he would occasionally go down there by himself and get a biscuit to scarf in secrecy out in the parking lot from time to time.

After a week of fairly clean eating and a full night of physical debauchery, I was famished and dove head long into the Taco Bell crave case. It was glorious but I have decided not worth it as I was 119 yesterday and 122 today - likely from fluid retention. Sad Mrs. G.

This morning I had 6 mini microwave sausage biscuits. For lunch I had nothing. For dinner.... who knows?
Jimmy Dean snack size biscuit sausage sandwiches?! Just bought a 20 pack yesterday at the store!

Dinner turned out to be an entire Domino's medium pan Pizza that day. One of my kids has been bugging me for a while to go to Dominos, no idea why. So we went. Low energy pizza. Sad! The pan was actually good, their regular hand tossed Pizza tastes like bread and ketchup. All Pizza definitely not the same.

Haven't had it in years but their philly cheese steak pizza use to be one of my favorite 'chain pizza places' pizzas.

For the price Dominos is fine. Little Caesars has been complete shit the past few times I've gone there and papa johns isn't worth the price unless they have a half off promo or somethin.

Just got back from Le Kroger and noticed a few new items. I picked up two of the new pringles to try and I'm wonder how far these beer flavors are going to go.

That beer sounds disgusting. Cookie dough is the worst flavor that anything can be flavored. It is known.

I went back to Five Guys - still didn't eat more than 5 fries, they're thick, dry and flavourless. Burgers are too small and bland, best thing about it was the bun.

Burger and Fries is $15 at current exchange rate.

For exactly the same price I can get a burger and fries at a non chain 'proper' burger joint, the burgers will be thicker and the choice of fillings much better 7Bone Burger Co., Southampton - Restaurant Reviews, Phone Number & Photos - TripAdvisor

5 Guys doesn't shine next to some niche artisan burger joint. It's strength is locations that don't have access to that kind of place. Where I live, if I want a burger my choices are McDonald's, which I can't even imagine actually ordering a burger at, Burger King, which is LITERALLY THE WORST, Wendy's, which I have heard vary in quality greatly by location, or Five Guys. In that contest, Five Guys blows them all away. But yeah, compare it to Ray's Hellburger or Holy Cow, or even Shake Shack, it doesn't hold up.

Caesar, Bellagio and Aria all have great buffets. I like the Peppermill Restaurant if you want to go old school and Delmonico if I want a steak. We ate at a hole in the wall sushi place off the strip called Kabuto edomae that, in exchange for $125, provided me with the most amazing meal of my life.

TBH you have a point, I was coming out John Wick 2 at a brand new shopping district that is full of new restaurants, a cinema and a bowling alley. It was 10pm, most of the restaurants were shut, save for 5 Guys.

Still wouldn't eat there again -the price just isn't worth it.
