Now I must have barbecue today...thanks a lot. At least I have good nearby (read within an hour) options. I will drive hours for great barbecue.

Famous Dave's is the only tolerable bbq we have around here, unless I want to sit in traffic for an hour to go to Mission BBQ. And, look, I'm a veteran too, but don't do colors at your fucking restaurant. I'm trying to eat with my family, not get a sidways glance from some PTSD stricken korean war vet because my 3 year old daughter doesn't understand the gravity of the moment this dude is having in a fucking fast casual restaurant.
Famous Dave's, while not great, isn't the worst or anything. It's hard to fuck up smoked food if you have the equipment. Some of it I am sure is frozen but I know they do have an actual wood smoker in the back. They do smoked burgers, which are good, and I love their Georgia Mustard sauce, very vinegary.
I legit miss teh bbq joints and mexican food places from Texas. Those were always on point. Out here it's all chain bbq and taquerias, no good mexican to be had.

Yup, we've got like 5 of em within a few miles of me. New one just opened up and their al pastor street tacos and chili relenos are off the fucking hook. You'd think it would be easy, but it's hard as fuck to find a really well done chili releno. The prices are insane at taquerias too.

taquerias around here typically mean burritos and tacos. Which is fine, I just miss the mexican joints back home that would have a better variety, more homemade stuff as well. There is actually one place like that up here that had slipped my mind.
The real revelation of the Metro DC area is all these fucking peruvian chicken places. I had never seen that until I got here, I could legit eat that every day. The one across from the shitty ghetto apartments in Alexandria that I used to live in when I first got out of the Navy also had tri tip.

The Baby Back Rib Burger features charbroiled de-boned baby back ribs covered in Cattleman's Original BBQ Sauce sitting, along with crispy onion strings and pickles, on top of a charbroiled beef patty and stacked between two halves of a brioche-style bun.
This makes me wish I had a Carls Jr. or a Hardees near me.

Burger Kings around me just went under new management and ownership within the last few months. The quality went from about a 2 and completely avoided to a 8 with multi visits weekly. Mind you that's in reference to a cheap fast food thread 1-10 scale. I always knew they had potential but the damn obama's sons that worked their previously were some fuckwits.

What is with this retarded trend of stacking food on food? JUST ORDER THE FOOD SEPARATELY AND EAT IT. Stacking tacos on pizza, or fries on onion rings or whatever the fuck else doesn't make them any better.
