I used to live close to a Popeyes that wasn't at all ghetto, and it was pretty good. Spicy chicken po boy with their seasoned fries and a biscuit was what I got most of the time unless there was a special that interested m.
We had one here for ages but it was 100 feet from a KFC and never ate at it and closed down. I've assumed my experience wasn't the norm ( hopefully ) as it was one of the few times I felt a meal was completely trash.
If I had one close I would try them again just because Little Nicky.

Here, they have this Mushroom Artisanal burger at McDs and honestly, the bun is better, the mushrooms are cooked perfect, the grilled onions are great, the peppery sauce is nice... however, it is all let down from the shit tier use of the standard quarter pounder beef patty. Dry and bland as fuck. If you could frankenstein together a Hardee's 1/3 lb thickburger patty onto this creation instead of the McD patty, it would be fast food burger heaven.

the BK Steakhouse King is the best BK burger i ever had. its not cheap though. small combo was 10 bucks.

Had one yesterday, or part of one. The first few bites were OK then toward the middle big glob of the sauce. That was it. Ate something else. Won't buy again. From the description I assume it was a blob of A1 steak sauce and mayo together. No thanks.

when i make burgers i always add worcestshire sauce and thousand island dressing to it so this steakhouse felt like one of mine. thats probably why i enjoyed it and why i guess you wont be coming to any of my BBQs anytime soon. :/

Tried that new taco burrito at Taco Bell, I didn't think it would be good but I ended up liking it tremendously.

I want that steakhouse king burger back AND the Angriest Whopper, fuck you BK for not making atleast one of those permanent.

Arby's redid their Gyros and they are way better then their last one. Actual lamb/beef gyro meat and the sauce isn't runny like the old one.

So, yesterday I finally went to Arby's for the first time in over a decade as I said I would. Ordered the traditional greek gyro and was not disappointed. I don't have a comparison to any gyro shops or anything cuz it's the first gyro I've had. But as far as just general sandwich talk it was fecking delicious and I'm glad Arby's is so far away cuz 2/ $6 I'd be a lard ass.

They've had hits and misses and subject to the Wendy's rule of quality. The ones here I'm pretty happy just sad they do many 5 star burgers get discontinued but we still have dumbass pineapple burger year round.

I hate mcribs so worried it ends up like that even if supposed to be different.

I think Angry Whopper has easily surpassed McRib as the top 'sometimes' Fast Food sandwich. Fuck Shamrock Shakes, too. I literally drive like 4 miles out of my way to regularly get them during its season.

The Angry Whopper is about the only thing I will get at BK. I still think I preferred the old Bacon Habanero Ranch Quarter Pounder.

revisited Arby's

Chicken Slider still so good. I recognize the simplicity but they do something to it man! 6/10
3 Cheese is still amazing. every bite was eye rolling slow-chomp good. but I shamefully sped up halfway through - user error and not its fault (Manager said it's phasing out tho!!) 8.75/10

Tried the beef and lamb gyro because friend suggested (despite yalls naysaying, even though I read above where some think recipe has changed)
Beef - the guy cut it perfectly and there was so much meat - cucumber ranch was great - 2/6$! Only need one (with fries and drink) 5.75/10
Lamb - I wasn't expecting actual lamb! well seasoned. For both, and why they aren't in the 6s, the flatbread was hard (but not too hard, more like jaw-strain chewy) and overwhelming. Even if it was fresher/softer, it would be too much. 5.75/10.

Zaxbys
kids tenders - chewy and rough - 3.75/10
Buffalo tender sandwhich - dry and tough. Go for salads at this place and don't strike me down for saying so. I strayed here because I saw the texas toast, but salads come with toast anyway. 4.25/10

You people going to popeye's and getting the tenders are doing it wrong. Their tenders always have been pretty crappy, if you want tenders go to Cane's. The chicken is pretty good and my favorite is the red beans. I'd dip both my biscuit and my cajun battered fries in my red beans, that's where its at. Their mashed potatoes aren't too bad either. People also really like their onion rings, I'm not a huge onion ring guy so they're just alright to me.

That said though Popeye's earned their reputation when they were owned by New Orleans local, Al Copeland. Shit was sooo much better back in the 80's/early 90's, back when the popeye's building's facade looked like charcoal. Chicken pieces were much larger and everything was made fresh. It definitely took a nose dive when that outside company invested money in them mid - late 90's and they've been making bank on the legend that was Popeye's ever since. They recently, like within the past few years, bought the actual rights to the chicken recipe for something like 40m I believe so they don't have to pay royalties to the Copeland family anymore.
