So my question is, are there places that make pre-cooked meals that you can just microwave?
Dude. Every supermarket has an entire aisle devoted to this.

Americans won't stop eating salt so let's bump it up so they can feel healthier.
Or maybe salt isn't as bad for you as it's been made out to be? Much like fats and dietary cholesterol were made to be boogie men, but we're learning it's not as simple as "That's bad for you!"

I read a big article in Time Magazine a while back called "Eat Butter" that made a pretty good case that the low fat movement more or less caused the obesity epidemic. I don't know of any other area where it's harder to make information based choices than food where the common wisdom seems to reverse itself every few years.

If you read the studies, there's evidence showing that eating under 3000 mg of sodium daily is actually bad for you, as in it is correlated with a higher risk of death.

The guidelines are 2300 mg.

Yeah I guess I just don't buy it. It could all be true and I just look like an idiot, but something doesn't add up. I'll let you live in your paradise, it doesn't bother me anymore.

I only read one of the articles but it seems like the research was done half assed. Hard to say what the diets were of the people.
The data also showed that people whose diets contained more than 1,500 milligrams of potassium per day were less likely to die during the study or have heart disease compared with those getting less potassium.
Potassium minimizes the impact of sodium on blood pressure,Mente said, but he suspects that higher potassium intakes could also be a marker of a generally healthier diet, because fruits and vegetables are rich in potassium.

Ok, you got me there, but you know what I mean! I eat plenty of frozen "healthy" meals like that for lunch, I was just hoping for something a little higher quality. And taste.

To be honest, I'm loving the Paul Newman "Dinner for 2" skillet things that you can just nuke. You are being redirected...Except of course that I eat the whole thing, but even twice the serving amount isn't *too* terrible for you. But those are like 6 bucks, so I'd happily pay more for something better and healthier.

Eh, realistically the guidelines are all different for everyone ideally anyhow - we're all different in different ways. I'm supposed to be on a high sodium diet personally, I actually am prone to leg weakness and fainting spells if I don't get enough. (And it's a ton that I need - thankfully I like salt, so it's not a burden)

Had the "El Diablo" at Hardee's today. They asked me if I wanted one as their opener and I just said yes. Not even 100% sure what was on it, but it was pretty good and had some good heat. Unfortunately I was driving while eating it and it had like 90 components that kept falling out and they gave me 1(!) napkin to sop up my forehead.

9/10. I think they put jalapenos as well as fully cooked jalapeno poppers on it. Oh, and bacon.

One thing I will say the more you work out the less you crave Soda, and fast food. Maybe not for everybody, but most people I've seen mention that after they have gotten back into a healthier lifestyle

I'm not sure why that is, but your body just seems to want better things to fuel it.

I used to eat fast food twice a day when I was big into weightlifting. I've never been so massive in my life. I wasn't obese, just fat-muscular, whatever the hell that is. I lifted pretty heavy and like 5x a week too though, so I don't know how much the fast food affected me outside of my body saying "FEED ME CALORIES"

I'd put soda and cigarettes on basically the same health tier.

I stopped drinking anything that isn't plain water 5 years ago and couldn't be happier. But I fucking love fast food.

I guess I'm lucky I really hate fast food. Only thing I like is pretty much Chicken from Pop-eyes, or Raising Canes chicken fingers.

Once you have an active lifestyle you definitely crave water more then soda tho. So if you are looking to quit that is the way

This is my favorite thread on these boards, which is why I will never troll it. It is sacred.

If I ever feel a heart attack coming on, I'll make sure to jot down a note for someone to come on here and let you guys know I died happy.
