There are plenty of situations where you might involuntarily end up at a fast food place but not want to completely blow up your daily calories/macros, so you get a "healthier" option like grilled chicken or a salad instead. Nothing wrong with that. Just because you find yourself at a fast food joint doesn't mean you have to pound down 1.5 - 2k calories.I never got the whole "This item at fast food is this many calories, ugh!"
Who goes to fast food places worried about eating healthy? If it were that important to you you, you wouldn't be there in the first place. Just eat what tastes good and move on.
I discovered that potato rolls make the best hot dog buns years ago and I used to get them every time although I'm not familiar with that brand. Sadly though, none of the local supermarkets have any kind of potato hot dog buns now. I don't know why people haven't realized this fact and capitalized yet. I also buy potato dinner rolls to make sliders with. These are the best hotdog buns on earth:Long Potato Rolls Martins Famous Pastry Shoppe
Yeah, I've tried several and Martin's is, by far, my favorite. I definitely recommend them for hotdogs or their burger buns. Even with fast food it's still pretty easy to balance what you eat the rest of the day in order to hit a calorie goal (probably blows any macro goals though). I have been shooting for 1.5-1.8k calories, and most fast food places you can get their normal shit and still easily get out in under 800 calories if you just get the sandwich and not the meal. I go about once a week for lunch with some people from work, I usually eat a light breakfast and adjust what I eat for dinner to hit the cal goal depending on what I eat for lunch.I never got the whole "This item at fast food is this many calories, ugh!"

Guh. For some reason the idea of pretzel buns has always been way better to me than the reality. I need my buns to be lighter and fluffier.Sorry sir, but you are wronghttp://www.pretzilla.com/sausagebuns.html- Pretzel Hot Dog Buns > Potato. [Same goes for burgers too - pretzel burger rolls are easier to find though]
