Yeah, I had that artisan grilled chicken on Friday, and it was not very good.

Had the el Diablo burger at Hardee's a couple days ago, that shit was really good. Not normally a fan of Hardee's burgers either. I got the "small" 1/3 pound burger and no fries, still could barely eat the whole damned thing. Which is good, because that beast clocks in at over 1.1k calories for just the 1/3 pound burger.

I never got the whole "This item at fast food is this many calories, ugh!"

Who goes to fast food places worried about eating healthy? If it were that important to you you, you wouldn't be there in the first place. Just eat what tastes good and move on.

Last night I cooked hotdogs and ate the usual 4. Then I was still hungry and ate the whole package of 8, including the buns.

Am I going to die?

There are plenty of situations where you might involuntarily end up at a fast food place but not want to completely blow up your daily calories/macros, so you get a "healthier" option like grilled chicken or a salad instead. Nothing wrong with that. Just because you find yourself at a fast food joint doesn't mean you have to pound down 1.5 - 2k calories.

These are the best hotdog buns on earth:Long Potato Rolls Martins Famous Pastry Shoppe
I discovered that potato rolls make the best hot dog buns years ago and I used to get them every time although I'm not familiar with that brand. Sadly though, none of the local supermarkets have any kind of potato hot dog buns now. I don't know why people haven't realized this fact and capitalized yet. I also buy potato dinner rolls to make sliders with.

I am not calorie-conscious at all. If I go out for fast food (1-3 times a month), I just go all out. Certainly I am not going back twice in one day and saying hi to the employees from earlier who I probably on a first name basis with.

Yeah, I've tried several and Martin's is, by far, my favorite. I definitely recommend them for hotdogs or their burger buns. Shits good!

Potato bread has become my go to for any type of bun. I dig the sliced bread as well.

Even with fast food it's still pretty easy to balance what you eat the rest of the day in order to hit a calorie goal (probably blows any macro goals though). I have been shooting for 1.5-1.8k calories, and most fast food places you can get their normal shit and still easily get out in under 800 calories if you just get the sandwich and not the meal. I go about once a week for lunch with some people from work, I usually eat a light breakfast and adjust what I eat for dinner to hit the cal goal depending on what I eat for lunch.

I won't get the el Diablo again for lunch even though it was good, just because of how bad it is. I just wanted to try it once.

Seriously? 0% chance of ever moving to Montana for me then if the markets are that fucking stupid. [Down from probably 1%]

Sorry sir, but you are wronghttp://www.pretzilla.com/sausagebuns.html- Pretzel Hot Dog Buns > Potato. But Potato are a close second (and Martin's is high up on my list of Potato ones to grab)

[Same goes for burgers too - pretzel burger rolls are easier to find though]
Guh. For some reason the idea of pretzel buns has always been way better to me than the reality. I need my buns to be lighter and fluffier.

Potato bread in all it's many variations is awesome for any meat.

I really like those Martins Potato Long Rolls for pulled pork sandwiches.

But for hot dogs I like the New England style hot dog buns that you have to butter and grill on either side, like the ones they use for lobster roles.

I just eat like 2-4 hotdogs without the buns. But that's for a snack, I'll do buns and fixin's if it's supposed to be my meal.

All beef hotdogs are great, but the grease cuts through my GI system like fucking Valyrian steel.
