I've only had a few Monte Cristos, but the jam thing threw me off. It was like the sandwich was in a great balance for lunch/breakfast and the overly sweet jam just negates the meat and makes it into a weird dessert. Now if they had covered that shit in a hollandaise or nacho cheese? Fuck yeah bro.

Whenever I see a place that would have a Monte Cristo they usually also have Clubs and Ruebens. Which I choose everytime. There's a place near my office that had monster club sandwiches like from an old school diner. So good.

That was back in the before times though.

In my continued attempt to kickstart the economy through eating, I crushed a Beef on weck drenched in horseradish last night. From Bar Bill, which I have mentioned before is the top wings and weck of Buffalo. Added in 10 hot Cajun wings. Not my pic. God so good.

The Chipotle-style pizza places are all shit. The pizzas are small, thin, and unless you hound the worker you get barely any toppings.

The #1 sandwich that I can't get a decent version of in Montana is a hot pastrami. You can get a Reuben most places here, but I haven't had a good hot pastrami since I left California. I was so angry at the abortion that Subway called the "Big Hot Pastrami" that I didn't go back there for like 3 years.

I have even thought that I should open a restaurant here selling hot pastrami sandwiches and tri-tip sandwiches. Both delicious hot sandwiches that you can get in almost any bar or restaurant in northern California but you can't find one anywhere here. I guarantee people here would love it.

I have the jam sometimes, but more often than not I bust out the aunt jemimas and squeeze like my life depends on it.

Since its all cold out, dunkin donuts salted caramel hot chocolate is some good shit. I only get it at places with the machine. When they mix it up themselves it always tastes like shit.

My grocery store does a salted caramel hot chocolate with its store brand, and it's fucking amazing. There's a sort of bite/aftertaste to it that is similar to if you let some caramel melt in your mouth.

Pretty much.

It reminds me a LOT of the delicious, old-school Pizza Hut pizza from like 30yrs ago.

Someone from Detroit might say there's a difference between it and your standard deep-dish pizza, though. I'm not sure.
