only played an hour or so but fucking love it so far, on a PS4 Pro the visuals are absolutely stunning. Be sure to turn on HDR mode (if your TV supports it) in options. I sorta felt a bit gay when I gazed upon my boy band companions but those beautiful tits of Cindy convinced me that the game is welcoming of all weeaboo deviants
it was rough going through the tutorials, i had played the demo or preview or whatever last year and named the pet after my dog, who died this summer. Suddenly seeing the name come to life in the game was a shock but a beautiful tribute.

Pretty sure it was every bit of two hours and took me three different tries to watch. But once you get in to it and things move out isn't that bad. Lots of great visuals, fighting, and the plot seems wholly significant top the game.

They already gave one of the "reasons" why for the delay: they wanted all disc out of the box to be completely playable without a launch patch. Which was true because the ones who broke street date were able to play and beat it without today's patch.
Another is logically that they needed more time to prep PS4 Pro compatibility.

For those wondering how the movie and the Anime falls into the story with the game. This is spoiler free.
You start the game before the event of the movie and anime. The event of movie happens during the game, but it is something that you're not directly involved in, but has major impact and ramification for the rest the story moving on in the game.
The Anime is also happening during the game. It is very self contained though. It is mostly flashbacks on how Noctis meets his 3 friends, and some major events that occurred in his past.
I would recommend watching the movie. The anime isn't as required, but will help you understand who these people are, and how their friendship formed, since the interaction between the 4 seems to be such an important part of the game...it is a nice addition.
